So today, as we’re heading into the last days of this year (2011), I figured that we all need to understand that we ALL deserve to be happy. DIVINE JOY is your PORTION in this life! You’ve got to look at what you’ve got right now and live in appreciation that you can live another day with the full knowledge that you have the ability to change your circumstances by doing one simple thing that needs to change. It starts with the letter “M”.
Yes, you guessed it! YOU have to Change your MIND.
A small exercise: I want you to write a letter to yourself and write 20 POSITIVE things about yourself.
When you’ve done that, read it to yourself everyday until YOU BELIEVE EVERY WORD of it. Post it up on your bathroom wall/mirror, or some place where you’ll see it everyday and read that list everyday for 21 days.
Why 21 days?
It takes 21 days to form a habit as it also takes 21 days to break a habit. Permit this change in your life by forming a habit of POSITIVITY.
YOU can break the HABIT of NEGATIVITY with this short 21 day habit of POSITIVE thinking. Purpose to speak the OPPOSITE of the Negative to renew your mindset to think Positive.
i.e. When someone says “You can’t because” reverse this thought with “I CAN”.
Now, I know that this seems to be me giving you a lecture but I’m gonna try this thing too. It wouldn’t be fair to you if I don’t put it into practice myself. I’ve done it before with just 10 things, so I’m gonna write my list here and put down 20 Positive things about myself. I chose the number 20 because I don’t want us to make this exercise easy by writing down 5 things which is a short list…
You will find that those with negative mentalities find it difficult to write even 10 things down so I’m making it a challenge to do double that. Let’s up this ante.
THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH!–Nehemiah 8:10
So when you start this exercise you will notice that you will become stronger as you purpose to think GOOD things and work this journey out of the darkness of negativity and into the light of POSITIVITY.
Philippians 4:8-9 (NKJV)
Meditate on These Things
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. [Emphasis Added]
Sherline’s List of 20 Positive things about herself – here goes:

7. My strength is in speech.
8. I have pretty eyes.

You don’t have to limit your list to just 20, but 20 is the start. Keep adding to it when you have more positive things to say. POSITIVITY is contagious. I have given you the SWAT for Negativity. POSITIVITY should reign in your heart. Be Blessed to be a BLESSING.
I’m going to put a song that has been boosting me up each day this week and it’s really a praise song that has been in my heart at the moment that I listen to each morning from yet again OUT OF EDEN.
It’s called “Now I Sing” – Out of Eden.
May it minister to you today and stay blessed and POSITIVE everyone.
