Another message for the Singles – Destiny Destroyers

Hello People!

Joseph and Potifar's wifeOk, I had no intention of bringing this up ever, but today I had lunch with a friend of mine and her story is what has inspired this post.

You know as a single person, you will encounter many battles and temptations to undermine and compromise your integrity. Joseph had that situation happen when Potifar’s wife wanted to sleep with him, but he did the right thing and preserved himself from the open invitation to stray from the path of simply doing the right thing.

And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.”

1eded7c4682539b61c0c0b554b8a97a3So my friend today tells me that there’s this guy in her past that has been contacting her as of late and they know each other since high school days. They’re good friends, however, the man is married. He went through an arranged marriage and has had 3 kids with his wife. So the thing is this, he supposedly confessed to my friend recently that he has always been “in love” with her and she didn’t really have romantic feelings for him, but would have entertained the idea of marriage had he expressed interest earlier on before the whole arranged marriage fiasco happened. He claims that the reason why he didn’t confess to her earlier was because she didn’t throw any hints of entertaining the idea, but she didn’t know that the man was interested in her that way. This is a moment where I say to men reading this post, if you’re interested in a lady, don’t assume for one second that they can read your mind…go up there and have courage to confess to her, so that you don’t have this crae-crae-ness affect your life later like this guy in my friends story.  You won’t know if you have a chance if you don’t try. Why live in regret thinking I coulda shoulda woulda, but inevitably like this guy, didn’t?????

Anywho, let me continue on with the story, so mind you they were young when they were friends and she was battling self-esteem issues like we all do when we’re in our teens and in our twenties. Anyways, long story short…he’s been constantly wanting to meet up with her without his wife knowing, and she being a woman with strong moral standards, doesn’t want to be a quote-in-quote “Homewrecker”. He even wrote two poems to her today which she shared with me to read to see what they meant because she isn’t really strong in understanding the symbolism in poems, literature and meanings etc etc. Thank God for English class because when I read these two poems, I could tell you where this man’s head was at. There were warning signs everywhere with what he wrote. I won’t paste the poems here for the sake of anonymity, but what I will say is that his subtle messages to the undiscerning individual will seem like lovely emotional imagery type poems, but in the poems were laced with venom that entertained leaving his wife, a threat of committing suicide and feeling trapped in dark emotions aimed at making my friend feel guilt. 😦 The man is obsessing over the fact that he could have married her had he had the guts back then to confess. Men…life is short, if you like a gal, confess now….if it doesn’t work out it doesn’t work out…but don’t be like this guy okay? Ladies, don’t entertain ungodly behaviours that can cause your brother to stumble. Don’t give into the temptation whatsoever because this type of thing right here is a DESTINY DESTROYER. Not just your destiny will be affected, but his as well, if you entertain the thought of adultery. Think David and Uriah’s wife, Bethsheba in the Bible (2 Samuel 11 ). David committed adultery, and his life there after was not peaceful from then on… there is a heavy price to pay for such a sin and life changing mistake.

Hearing her story freaked me out because I was reminded of a time I liked a similar person. This person that I liked was “in the church” and I secretly liked this person for 7 years (Yeah, I know…why did I do that to myself?). The person appeared to (from my perspective) or seemed to like me back and sent out strong signals that he was attracted to me, but he never took action. Me being young and naive thought…that was just him being shy…but when I got the courage to confess (because I couldn’t stand waiting anymore), I was stopped by a few friends of his that were in the church as well who kind of indicated to me not to say anything. Long story short, I found out soon after that he was married and he had no intention of revealing that in the first place to me whatsoever until he had peer pressure from his friends forcing him to be accountable and come out with the truth. I thank God everyday for his God-fearing friends.

The moment he told me the truth I was devastated and immediately, all the feelings I had for him were completely gone. I was distraught beyond belief and felt like I had just wasted 7 years to end up with nothing, NOTHING 😦 . I was angry and completely emotional about the whole thing. The strange thing was, after confessing the truth that he was married, he all of a sudden started to show strong affections towards me that he never displayed before once he found out that I “liked” him, and started to pursue me in the church. Just like my friend’s situation, he was regretting not acting on his feelings or so it appeared. At this point, I didn’t have time for that so You know what I did? I RAN AWAY. That’s right I RAN AWAY and didn’t look back. He started to stalk me and that totally freaked me out, but thank God, his friends and family kept him at bay. I had to pray and fast to God to have this person removed from my life, and one day he simply just left the church. I sincerely pray and thank God for that because he seemed like he was not going to back down until he had what he wanted. It was like dealing with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The man had two personalities going on there that shocked me. I shudder when I recall the whole thing.temptation

I must say this, even if you pray for the person to be removed from your life, you might have to take drastic measures and simply remove yourself from the situation just to preserve your integrity. I’m not joking about this. You have to do whatever it takes in order to preserve yourself. Yes, it will hurt like hell, but trust me, you will see down the road that you did the right thing. I admit that initially when he started to show strong affections towards me, I did entertain the idea that maybe he married the wrong person” etc etc, yes, those thoughts did come across my mind, but who was I kidding but myself. I have no time to be in self-denial. He showed a dark obsessive side that I failed to see before and when God simply opened my spiritual eyes to see into the person, I saw something that freaked me out and I will never forget it for the rest of my life that it made me realize the devil will use anyone and anything to kill your destiny.

God loves us so much that He will show us the truth to preserve our lives, but we have to be willingly open to what God shows us in order to embrace the reality of the situation no matter how disappointed you may feel. I knew that God loved me enough to show me the truth of this person’s heart that he saved me from a life-time and possibly life-changing mistake. Think SAMSON….he entertained danger and made a life-changing, lifetime mistake when he allowed a DELILAH in his life.Overcoming_Temptation_Product_Image_1024x1024

Men, I urge you, do not allow crae-crae (crazy) women into your life. They can mess you up big time and give you a lifetime of pain. Ladies, don’t allow a man who promises and tells you sweet “nothings” to cause you to compromise your beliefs and where you stand in God. He is not worth it.

Albeit, I was devastated, I imploded on the inside and the funny thing was, God had shown me in some dreams that I had recorded that he was not what he appeared to be despite being in the “church”, but I was ignoring the interpretation because I wanted to “see the best in him”. Listen, love isn’t blind to the truth, we choose to be blinded by our emotions. We deceive our own hearts into accepting lies rather than seeing the truth for what it is. That whole experience inspired my “So You Lied to Me – Trust is Earned My Friend” post which is one of my very first posts for this blog that has always received huge hits because I’m sure many people have gone through this craziness.

I cannot emphasize this enough. As a single person in my thirties, I have come to know based on experience, that life is already short, why make it shorter by entertaining nonsense in our lives. The Devil’s agenda doesn’t change…he want’s to kill, steal and destroy you and the blessings God has for you in your life.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Yes, you will be tempted, you will be deceived, you will be tricked, you will be put into situations that will test your integrity, but hold fast to the WORD OF GOD. That is the only thing that can save you. I know what it’s like to be heartbroken. I was heartbroken about the situation to the point I was grieved because I couldn’t believe that a person I liked, and supposedly a “Christian” person at that would not care about entertaining the idea of an “affair”. I’m not that girl, I’m not that woman that wants leftovers. I was so distraught that such a person didn’t realize how much I take my relationship with God seriously. It took me two years to get over it…I mean I loved the guy for 7 and I was in a state where I was repenting everyday and seeking God’s face to show me where I went wrong, how could I be deceived etc etc, and during that time I separated myself from a lot of people and contemplated suicide. I was withdrawn and needed to find myself again.

God is amazing in that He healed many parts of my broken heart that started me blogging in the first place. It took 2 years…but honestly, I’m glad I went through that experience. I was bitter and didn’t trust anybody, but honestly, God was showing me not to close myself off just because of this. I want to remain in right-standing and had to be like a modern-day Joseph and preserve mine integrity. I won’t lie, it does feel lonely at times doing the right thing when everybody else is just jumping to what’s good, but this is all about fighting for your DESTINY.  Hence, this is why I’m sharing this story now. Honestly, I would much prefer taking this story to my grave, but I feel led to share it here so that I pray that this story helps someone to see that there are things out there that are geared to destroy your destiny. Only you have the power to protect it with the decisions that you make. I’m not saying that it’ll be easy, in fact, it will be excruciatingly hard, but you can do it. God wants you to have an abundant life, don’t allow room to sin in areas that you know you cannot undo. Don’t entertain illicit affairs or relationships that are ungodly and unequal yokes. Don’t marry into a lifetime of unhappiness and pain. Wait on the Lord, and He will bless you in the fullness of time. I trust God with my future, so I implore you to put your future in God’s hands. Don’t allow the enemy to trap you and halt your destiny by entertaining danger. You know that saying that goes, “If you play with fire, you will get burned”. I know what it feels like to play with fire…but thank God I ran away from it so that I wouldn’t end up burned. Don’t play with fire is my message.

The Devil will attack you with feelings of “loneliness” to move you to do crazy things. It is so important to anchor yourself with the right people that share the same biblical-standards that you do, or are stronger than you in many areas that you are weak in. Isolation is not good for you because we are all created to be relational beings to begin with, so fellowship with strong Christians. Find mentorship with people that can guide you in the right direction. If you’re in my thirties like myself and thinking “Yo, my biological clock is tickin’ and nothing’s going on. I’m going to take matters into my own hands and do this thing my way”, let me stop you right there and tell you, if you ain’t praying to God about your spouse right now, I guarantee that you’ll attract trouble and trouble will find you. I may not be married right now and many of you might think I’m not qualified to say the things I’m saying, but it doesn’t matter. God’s Word stands firm forever. If you want to do things your way without consulting God on the matter, then be my guest, because I already have friends that compromised and fell into temptation and their lives are in chaos with what the devil brought in their direction. Understand this one thing, the Devil maximizes on the emotion we call “Loneliness” to trap you and get you to compromise. Don’t allow that feeling to trump reason, don’t allow that feeling to override what it means to do the “right thing”. Go to God when you feel empty, because it is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that He fills you. No person in this lifetime can fill or satisfy the void that is in your life and in your heart.

This message is for the single for both men and women, young or old.  There are things out there in life that are laid there as a trap to cause you to falter on your journey. These are what I call DESTINY DESTROYERS. Please, please, please, go to God if your are dealing with something like this. Find someone who will pray with you and assist you to stay on the right path. Avoid a life time of pain, Amen! This was indeed a difficult post for me to write because of my personal story, but I feel that someone needs to hear this and change their course to get back on track. I hope it helps somebody.

Here is a song from Hillsongs United called I Surrender. Surrender your life to God right now. If you’ve made some of these mistakes, go back to God and seek His face to help you get back on track. God Loves you and will help you get up again no matter how many times you’ve fallen. He cares about you and will do all that it takes to Protect your Destiny, Amen. I pray that this Song blesses your spirit today. God bless you everybody 😀

Learn to Stay in Your Lane

Hello People!

Happy Sunday! I’m still trying to get over the jetlag believe it or not. Lord help me now! lol. 😀

01454baeb76a64bf08ca3070349734c8Today’s post comes from experience. How many times have you driven (if you drive that is) and had someone cut you off and either:

1) slow down the moment they did that, or

2) they drive in such a way that they make it almost nearly impossible for you to overtake them? 😦

If you are a driver, holla! As a fellow driver, I know how annoying that can be. Some people even do things to get you into road rage, but the thing is, you’ve got to remain calm. Well that’s what any good driving instructor would ever tell you. Honestly, I should speak for myself because sometimes, I’m like “get off the road!” if I see careless driving skills going on. Father, Help ME NOW! lol 😀

tumblr_md8u5oz12c1qhmhdfo1_500Listen, sometimes people will do that to you in life. There will be people competing with you unnecessarily in your life trying to overtake you to show you how supposedly “better” they are than you at something. Some people may even antagonize you to speed with them and race them, but you shouldn’t fall for that nonsense. Just keep it real cool and stay in your lane! You don’t need to be tricked into getting into an accident with them. The mistakes I see people make is that when people are competing with others for attention or promotion that’s headed your way, they do things to try and make you mess up to make you miss your blessing which is your destination.

Don’t allow a fool on the road of your life to mess up the direction you are heading by being distracted by their shenanigans. There will be people trying to prove that they are better than you at something, but your job is to remain focused on the road you have to take. If they overtake you, let them…continue at a safe distance behind and remember, that just because they’re in front of you doesn’t mean they know where you’re going. When they aren’t paying too much attention, you’ll overtake them, just give it time because the road you are traveling on is one less traveled.

I believe that God is taking certain people to roads less traveled. Having said that though, you will have bad drivers in your life trying to follow you, overtake you, aggravate you as you pursue your destiny/destination. You have to stay on your lane to get to where you need to be. Those that compete with you are direction-less and mindless people that don’t know how to “stay in their lane”. When you allow God to be your GPS (Godly Positioning System), He will take you to places that will help you avoid all these obstacles. You need Emotional Strength to be a great driver. Don’t always react to every crazy driver that tries to pull stunts while you remain on the right path. God has given you a path to take, so continue in it.

d476a3477856cef4477ac1ac6518e2a9I remember being in a car accident a few years ago. I was hit by a bus and a huge SUV in the winter time at that. It’s a wonder why I’m still alive and all in one piece. Obviously, I give God the credit for it 😀 . But what I want to say is that, there may even be people in your life who will try to abort your destiny by trying to crash into you. That is when you need the Holy Spirit’s help to preserve your destiny. You need discernment and wisdom to continue your journey. That accident I went through like 5 years ago was insane. I had to go through soo much therapy to get back in shape again. I still suffer some back issues because of it, but I don’t allow the past to stop me from jumping back into my car and continue the course.

You see, sometimes, people will crash into you hoping that you won’t recover and continue your journey. In some cases, they hope that you die from the accident, which I think was the case for me, but praise God, I’m still here. Let me tell you, that with God on your side, nothing by any means can stop you from achieving what you need to achieve. Yes, like me who was in that accident, you might be delayed on the journey, but God will heal you and it will be up to you at that point to not be paralyzed by the fear of the accident to keep you continuing the journey.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

tumblr_meepy1JYLU1qhmhdfo1_500Some people encounter stuff like that in their lives and never drive again, but I’m a person that has too much destiny to stay put…I’ll continue moving forward and so should you. Don’t let the past hold you back from pursuing the future. Don’t let anybody’s mistake hold you back either. Just because people don’t like where you’re headed doesn’t mean that they have the capacity nor the power to hold you back from your destination. Don’t give people too much power over your destiny. Give your destiny into God’s Hands, and He will preserve you throughout the entire journey. Ask the Lord to give you the Spirit of wisdom and understanding to take you safely to your destination. You have to put your trust in God.

The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

Sometimes, you’ll encounter busy-bodies who are all up in your business wanting to know “where are you going?”. Remember my previous post about Wisdom in the Season where I talked about being DISCREET? Those are the times where you need to keep your mouth shut because such people are the same types of people that try to overtake you, ram into you and do crazy things while you are on your journey to your destination. You haven’t got the time for that.

15-1Yes, people will be jealous of you and will want to travel along side you to see if they can obtain the promise that God has for you when you get to your destination, but let me tell you, they have no right to what’s yours if they’ve never worked their faith as hard as you have to obtain it. No one has the right to steal or overtake you thinking they can simply beat you to what God has planned for you. These people are “haters” and God will cause such people to take detours out of your life simply because you are putting your trust in God. I like the saying I heard one Nigerian say which is what I’ll say to you here in this post, and that is to all your haters, they can “sit-down, one-side, to the back” of your life since God will direct your path to a place where you will prosper and be in good health as your soul prospers. Because Jesus is the GPS in your life, He will take you to the roads that will rid you of all the crazy drivers out there that want to give you hell on the road while you are on your journey. Just keep trusting God, Amen!

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

There is a song that is in my spirit right now by Hillsong Worship called Open Heaven (River Wild). You need to surrender to the Holy Spirit in order for God to direct your path, Amen!

I pray that this song blesses your spirit today. 😀

Strengthening Your Patience while Waiting

Day 19 of 21 Day Daniel Fast – Waiting can be a tedious and arduous task when you are expecting an answer to your prayers to come down ASAP; however, as cliche as this sounds “patience is a virtue” and by virtue, it is indeed a difficult thing to strengthen in a microwave society that expects things to be produced immediately. Just because society has become accustomed to this microwave way of thinking doesn’t mean  that in the Kingdom of God we can treat such important matters with the same mentality. God’s Kingdom has value and the things that God has for us has great Value and as such, we have to learn to cultivate patience which is a specific virtue to obtaining the things we need in order to become highly effective people in our society that needs to see God as the answer. Because God is our answer, we have to understand that Great things come to those that wait and that a blessing delayed is not a blessing denied. Unfortunately, we can abort its arrival to our address if we start to become impatient and seek other avenues that are ungodly to receive the answers we seek. This is characteristic of rebellious behavior; a culmination of a level of faithlessness, unbelief, and an uncommitted heart which is derived from DISOBEDIENCE.

When others choose the path of disobedience to obtaining the things they want, what they don’t realize is that such behaviors may allow them to receive what they seek in an attractive package, but the consequence to their actions will ultimately bring them pain and misery as a result once they realize that what they settled for may not have been designed to fit their destiny. Wait for Gods best rather than settling for less than the best. Yes, you have to wait, but waiting for a promise that will give you a lifetime of joy is better than settling for a hasty decision that brings a lifetime of pain likened to living without peace and feeling like everyday is a living hell. Avoid making hasty decisions.  An example of such disastrous ideas could be choosing the wrong mate as a life partner because of the impatient desire for God to reveal His best handcrafted for you, or choosing the wrong school for your education, or choosing the wrong occupation or job out of desperation just to work but not really seeking God to direct you to the right place for you to work in or trusting Him to take you to the right connections that are aligned to your destiny.

We must understand that God is committed to His Jeremiah 29:11 in your life but are you committed enough to wait patiently for that long awaited valuable answer or blessing that you seek in your life? If we choose to be impatient as we wait for what God has for us, we potentially can make life changing, destiny altering decisions that have lasting ramifications not just in your life but in future generations to come. This is a serious thing that we should understand when we await what God has for us. Think of Esau, he despised his birthright for a morsel of food and the blessing that was intended for him was handed over to his brother (Genesis 25:19-34). It was said that he sought for his blessing with tears (Hebrews 12:17). You don’t want to end up like that now do you? I Know I don’t. Don’t allow doubt to rob you of the virtue of Patience. Patience is a character building trait and let me tell you, I for one am still workin’ on it. It is a difficult thing to cultivate but I believe it is worth while to nurture since the benefits of it are that you gain wisdom, understanding along the way in order to maintain the promise once you receive it. Purpose to wait patiently for God’s best and don’t allow disobedience to rob you of the best that is yet to come.

Scriptures to Meditate

Genesis 25:34
Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.

Romans 9:13
Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”

Hebrews 11:20
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future.

Hebrews 12:16
See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.

Hebrews 12:17

17 Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had done.

Colossians 1:11
being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,

Colossians 3:12
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

1 Timothy 1:16
But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

Hebrews 6:12
We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. Registered & Protected

Understanding the Assignment – The Thieves of Dreams

In God’s Hands

Day 12 of 21 Day Daniel Fast – So for today’s meditation I will talk about the thieves of our dreams.  Some of us have  now past the half way check point of this race and for me it’s been an amazing journey. These meditations keep me grounded and I’m learning a lot as I write each day. I hope that my posts are encouraging, motivating and thought provoking for you as they are for me because I’m still learning to Hear what God has to say. I always pray before I post so that the message is pure and encouraging, I feel like God is preaching to me and I’m all about “Yea and Amen to that Father!” Each time He downloads something into my spirit to talk about in my blog meditations for this Fast. What has Father God put into your Heart? I am not that great at journalizing everything that comes to mind every single day, but blogging has been a great avenue to help me get that habit kicking in. Ok so enough chatter, down to business.

Todays meditation is in respect to the thieves of your dreams. You must understand that when you are making good progress in a project, receiving honorable recognition with an audience, or when you are increasing your cup of faith in your prayer life that is beginning to shine outwardly that people can notice that there is a significant positive difference within you that is shining on the outwards; you are building charisma. To me, Charisma is a Godly divine gift of attraction. It is a privilege NOT a right to have because it serves a purpose and that is to build, bless, and edify others with the WORD of GOD.  You will attract people’s attention and focus on you, but you shouldn’t forget that you also attract the Devil’s attention and all his minions have their eyes set on you as well as their Target to attack with full force and effect.

This Fast is the kind that attracts the Devil’s attention on those peeps that are “for real” with their walk in Christ. Ask yourself, are you even making a dent in the kingdom of darkness to gather their attention on You? Is your prayer life such that it causes crazy things or people to manifest adversely towards you?Are you pressing the right buttons to warrant a reaction to your ACTION (which in this case is through prayer and fasting)? Are your prayers kicking demonic butt? I know I have a tendency to ask funny questions like this, but I’m being serious because these are the kinds of questions I ask myself when I meditate. Am I wishy washy or am I hitting the target when I pray? The point is, when you purpose to aim for the Mark, God steps in and directs your arrows to the target, but if you are praying amiss or are not praying at all…you aren’t hitting anything and are sitting in the boat of mediocrity being tossed by the winds of ignorance.

You should never underestimate your enemies, especially the Adversaries in your life. Men, who are the Delilahs and Jezebels in your life? Women, who are the Ahabs, Herods or Hamans in your Life? Children, who are the Pharoahs and jailers in your life?

We all have adversaries, but can you discern who they are? As the Lords Glory falls upon you through this time of consecration and spiritual purification, you have to understand that there is ALWAYS an assignment on your life and in the lives of your family, friends and networks. It is up to you to RECOGNIZE them as they come because you have to increase in your level of discernment in order to foresee and forgo the battles in your life with wisdom and understanding. When God raises a standard in you, the Enemy rises against you at the same time. The enemy may come in like a flood, but God comes to raise a standard up against the enemy (Isaiah 59:19). You have to be that standard. You have to determine whether or not you will become the standard because like I said before, when there is a great outpouring of Gods overflow, some will be prepared to swim with it and some will drown because they couldn’t handle the overflow which can be explained by one of two things:

1) They refused to handle it; or

2) They didn’t or were not prepared to handle the overflow.

When God plans to elevate you, it’s always for the purpose of giving Him Glory. However, it’s always a CHOICE to follow His WILL above our own. It is up to us to believe that He always wants what is best for us. The question is, have you arrived at a level and prepared yourself to follow His Will? ARE YOU WILLING TO DO HIS WILL IN YOUR LIFE?  Don’t answer this question with haste without putting real effort to think deep about it because, once you say “Yes”, there’s no turning back.

In order to Work your Faith out you need to put what you believe into Practice. If you say you’re gonna meditate on His word, do it, If you’re going to worship him expressively without shame then do it, if you’re going to dance in His name then do it. What ever you believe you have to do to get God’s attention, DO IT. God will fulfill your dreams when you purpose to fulfill His Will in your Life.

When God’s Hand is upon you like a Father who loves His child, the Devil will notice you and you should be sure that your life will encounter some serious spiritual attacks. Let’s not water this down so that you can “sleep well at night”. You have to know the reality so that you can prepare for it. If you don’t prepare, don’t expect your adversaries to halt their attack on you because they are trying to thwart what God has for you because that is their Modus Operandi (Latin: Method of operation) on your life and your dreams which is to Kill, Steal and Destroy (John 10:10). Don’t wait to be on the defensive against your adversaries when you can start to be on the Offensive. You already have what you need which is your weapons of warfare that are not carnal, but are mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). REMEMBER THAT! Also, always operate with Humility and with Wisdom. Seek God for DIVINE ideas and strategies for effective warfare. You need God every step of the way.

Dream thieves are those that are Destiny Killers. They are people assigned to tempt you away from God’s purpose in your life. This is why discernment is crucial. You have to build your ability to discern your friends from your foes and your enemies from your allies. If you don’t know how to do it, then now is the time to seek wisdom in this area. Read my post Sharpening Your Discernment in order to prepare your mind for the times ahead. I’m still learning to sharpen my discernment, but let me tell you that during this Fast, I’ve been noticing some crazy things going on and it’s because my spirit has become heightened and quite sensitive to the things happening around me. You must always rely on God and if you ask Him to point out your Foes, He will show you provided that you are ready to accept the reality that some of them maybe people you trust. Can you handle the truth?

If you want to move up in life and progress towards your destiny, you must prepare your Heart and Spirit to accept what God reveals to you when He removes the scales off your Eyes. Are you ready for that slap of reality to wake you up? I know it doesn’t sound inviting, but the truth will make you free.

So ask yourself if living in ignorance to those who are devising methods to cap your potential is bliss or is the harsh reality that unveils what was always lying underneath the surface of things the best for YOU?

I think it’s better to seek the truth and remove the scales so that you can reach your full potential as a person and achieve great things in this life with a heart that is steadfast and unwavering. Let GOD expose your enemies so that you can arrest the thieves of your dreams. Pray about it and seek wisdom as you continue to Fast and seek Gods face to SHARPEN YOUR DISCERNMENT.

2012 – Becoming Vessels of Honor – Walking with Eternity in Mind

As we enter in to 2012, we must leave what’s past behind us for we cannot change that which is already past. Instead, we must proceed to the future with Eternity in mind. You cannot assume that each day will last forever, since life is but a fleeting moment as I mentioned in my previous post. Walking with Eternity in mind means your present actions; your NOW actions, will affect your destiny in the future and the only way to determine where you want to be is to purpose to do the things that will get you to the place that God has destined you to go. Seek to change what needs to change NOW and start working on it now rather than later because the Goal in this life is to fulfill your life’s God-given Destiny. You are no accident, you were created with a purpose in this life. Eternity leaves a trail of Legacies and although we have our own personal heroes, eg. Michael Jackson, Steve Jobs, Pope John Paul II, Mother Theresa etc etc, whomever they maybe, understand that their race has already ended and you can only focus on the most important one who is running which is YOU.

Philippians 3: 12-16

Pressing Toward the Goal

12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. 16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule,[b] let us be of the same mind.

We are all running a race and some haven’t picked up speed yet because they are too busy looking at what is past, what has been left behind. Legacy makers expect you to take on the baton and complete the work they have already started. Finish the race!

I’m sure that many of us have “New Years Resolutions” and goals that they want to fulfill, however, let us not forget what is important and that is the continuous focus for self-improvement. I entitled this Post “Becoming Vessels of Honor” for a reason, and that is because we need to start thinking about why we are here on this Earth in the first place.

Do you have any idea what your purpose on Earth is at this moment? Have you asked God what your true destiny is at this time?

Sometimes we get so busy watching others running their own race that we haven’t realized that we ourselves have stopped running. We cannot afford to put down our batons.

This New Year of 2012, focus on becoming a Vessel of Honor. You must be asking me what do you mean by that?

God is the Potter, We are the Clay and He can Mold us to be what we are destined to be if we allow ourselves to be malleable enough to allow Him to form us into His Image and Likeness.

A Vessel of Honor is one that:

Upholds Integrity over Reputation- Exercises Sound judgement and Self-Control (Galatians 5:21-23; Titus 1:7-9; 2 Peter 1:6).

Seeks Gods Face on a Personal basis- Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you (Matthew 6:33).

Worships Him in Spirit and in Truth – God inhabits in the Praises of His People (Psalms 22:3)

Reads the Word, Meditates on the Word and Learns to Live by the Word – this is a daily affair and an ongoing process to transform, renew, and be reborn into His likeness (Romans 12:2; 2 Corinthians 3:18).

Operates with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit or seeks to do so – Destined to Edify and Build the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:4; 1 Corinthians 14:12)

Is Moved by Gods Spirit and not the Flesh – Purpose holiness rather than Godlessness, it is an ongoing battle to subject ourselves to the obedience of Christ through the help of the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21).

Learns to Love people as Christ did for us – the aim is to epitomize AGAPE (God is Love) in the Flesh since Love is the Greatest thing of all  and this is what this Love-starved world needs to see (1 Corinthians 13:4; Galatians 5:22) .

Out of all goals that you have planned on your New Years Resolutions List, Purpose to Walk in the Spirit this Year of 2012. Make God YOUR priority this YEAR. God will move mountains when you are moved by His Spirit.

A Legacy Maker always has Eternity in Mind. A Legacy Maker is driven by Purpose, so ask yourself as you walk into this Year of Divine Government 2012 (since the number 12 means Government), Whose Kingdom are you going to follow this YEAR??? Are you going to re-prioritize your time to God this Year? Are you seriously planning to change your ways? The Things of this world cannot sustain you in the way that the Divine can, so ask yourself what do you want to Gain this year? In Christ, there is more to Gain spiritually, emotionally, physically as you draw closer to Him. The World offers temporary pleasures but cannot satisfy you with Inner Peace, Joy and Fulfillment that comes from the Divine Counselor, Our Prince of Peace, Mighty God, Jesus Christ.

God is the Potter and We are the clay. Purpose to allow God to mold you to be what you were destined to be, and that is to become Joint heirs with Christ, Sons of God. He is a God that is a King of Kings…so we must purpose Sonship, Kingship, and become Vessels of Honor, Glorifying the One in Us; the HOPE OF GLORY (Colossians 1:27).

Welcome yourself to the rest of your Life and become a Vessel of Honor walking with Eternity in Mind.

I pronounce a blessing to all who read this post. May Divine Peace, Prosperity, Love be with You This Year of 2012 and many years to Come. Amen.

God Has Not Forgot – He Will do what He Promises

So we are at the timing of New Years Eve of Year 2012. No matter what happened this year in 2011, be it unfulfilled dreams, aspirations or what have you, remember that everyday is a spiritual battle to fulfill your God-given destiny that is aligned with your God-given dreams.

I have looked back on this year with appreciation in that I encountered some major disappointments but they did not outweigh what God has done to change me to look beyond what I see and seek His face. When the going gets tough you have to remember that although you have Faith that you have sown in Tears, God will ensure that you will Reap in JOY.

Joy is your Portion because you are a Son/Daughter of the Most High God, Jesus Christ. I believe that when I went through my desert seasons, everything seemed dry and desolate, but through my walk, when the rain touches the Ground, those hidden seeds that were underneath the ground are going to germinate and spring forth with a harvest that I have yet to reap. I believe in this Harvest that God has for me and I also believe that such a promise is not for me alone, but for all those that have suffered a season of desolation.

God is with you in every season. The earth has four seasons; Winter, Spring, Autumn, and Summer. You will also have your seasons in the Year 2012 but remember that through it all, God is with you every step of the way. I want to encourage all those that are going through rough patches, sad patches, abandonment, rejection, mourning seasons, seasons where all hell seems to be breaking loose, Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. The race is not for the swift nor the  strong, it is for the steadfast and the wise who Keep their focus on the One that can take you through the storms. Jesus will calm your storms because storms can’t last forever. You will experience the Peace that you seek as long as you keep your Hand in the palm of the Almighty. He will bring you to your breakthrough and I am believing this for myself and for all in the year of 2012.

The song that comes to mind in reflection of all this is by Dorinda Clarke Cole called Everything He Promised. This song has ministered to me so many times and I want to share it with you. I love worship and I can’t help but bless this post with yet another song to uplift your heart. God is with You ALWAYS — Remember that when you listen to this song. Children are Precious – Protect that which is Precious

“But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.””
– Luke 1:30-33
Jeremiah 1:5
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
I decided to post this after thinking about how I was born and thought that if it weren’t for my grandparents and my mother deciding to keep the pregnancy of two babies, I would cease to be here today. My story is in What is in a Name? and you’ll understand why I’m putting this up. My sister and I weren’t planned children…in fact we were children born from a rape situation. We could have ceased to exist and I wouldn’t be writing this blog right now had my mother chosen the hatred and anguish route and aborted us. Praise God for her parents that decided to support her pregnancy despite the horrifying circumstances. My sister and I are alive because my mother with the help of her parents decided to let us live.
Children are precious and I know there is a lot of broo ha ha about those that are pro-choice versus pro-life debates in the US and all around the world but I think that these debates silence the voices that go unheard which are often the voices of the innocents, the unborn children. I know that children born from a sexual assault situation face rejection from the moment that they are conceived but even Jesus was rejected by the world the moment He was conceived. King Herod decreed an unjust law to kill all the first born male children of the Jews which was a tyrannical law that many Jewish families suffered since his real agenda was to seek out to kill baby Jesus, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, SAVIOR of the World.
Abortion is very much like the Spirit of HEROD (the murdering of the “innocents” type spirit) that spares no family and leaves utter devastation as a result which is completely spiritual, emotional and physical in its level of devastation. The only thing that saved Jesus from the plot of Herod was Joseph’s dream of an angel warning him to flee with his wife Mary to Bethlehem (in obedience to GOD) and also the cooperation of Mary to conceive the child. Mothers play an important role in a child’s life beginning at conception NOT at birth. I know what I am saying seems harsh but if my mom who was raped accepted my sister and I before we were born into this world, then I truly believe that anyone who has experienced the same level of pain as her can choose not to be wrapped up in self-pity over the horrific event of it and allow their innocent children to be born.
Unborn children have a spiritual voice that cry out for the love of their mothers and fathers. Fathers like Joesph are a rare blessing in this world that want to care for a child. My own father abandoned us even after the deed and acted like we didn’t exist and yet here I am writing this post imploring women, no matter what the circumstances, please give your unborn child the gift of life, even if you can’t financially sustain them, give them up for adoption (because my mother did and my grandparents legally adopted us) and don’t opt for abortion so quickly just because of the pain you feel about having that child because you have no idea what God has put into that child. That child could bless you one day and you would never know the truth of that if you decide to snuff out their life just as the Devil wanted Herod to kill Jesus. Our salvation is a gift and our parents play an important role in our life the moment we are conceived so please women, seek therapy in such situations where you are considering abortion as the end all solution to your pain. Before deciding to perform an act that is irreversible, understand the full repercussions that this deed has against you, on a spiritual, emotional and physical level that leave you tied to regret, more pain (physical and emotional) and self-condemnation that can last a life-time or lead to suicide. Let me illustrate a personal story to put my point across.
A personal story about a girl I knew and what she went through
I remember working with a girl at a call center when I was in high school who was living with an abusive boyfriend at the time. She eventually fell pregnant and told her abusive boyfriend about it and he told her to abort the baby. When she told me this story she was busy contemplating the status of her relationship between herself and her boyfriend and felt that if anything…she didn’t like the abuse but “loved” the guy and yet wanted to keep the baby. As she spoke to me sharing this painful story, I told her flat out that the man didn’t love her and she should leave that abusive situation and have the baby. At first she heeded to the advice but later on, she went back to that abusive boyfriend and told him that she was going to leave him and have the baby on her own since he didn’t love her. Do you know what happened next? The boy begged her not to leave and told her that he “loved her” but felt that it was best to get rid of the baby since they both couldn’t afford to have “it” (this boyfriend sounds much like a King Herod sweet-talking to the wise men to me in Matthew 2:7-8). She told me his response and of course I slapped her with the truth and told her that she shouldn’t believe this crazy guys story…but she “loved” him and went back to that relationship.
Her decision: She was 2 months along and she went ahead against her own better judgment and had an abortion and soon after the deed went and told her abusive boyfriend the “good news” that she had gotten an abortion.
His response: he told her to get out of their apartment, he threw her out violently and he never wanted to see her again. As a result she was completely devastated because she really wanted to keep the baby but was convinced by her abusive boyfriend’s so-called “love”.
She confessed and told me the story and went into a grave depression. As sad as I was about her situation because I was praying for her in the background to keep the baby, I didn’t judge her for her decision and asked her to pray with me to let go of the emotional pain she was now left to endure from the shock of her actions, the rejection from her boyfriend, and the sorrow of losing that which she could have kept.
I gave her a short prayer and she was very emotional and she cried. She didn’t really believe in Christ but she knew I was a Christian and accepted my offer to minister to her in prayer and I hugged her and told her that she shouldn’t blame herself because anyone can make the same mistake. She was thankful for me being there for her during her time of need but I could see that she was indeed suffering severe emotional pain. I was 17  at the time when I encountered her so I had no experience with this and was a newb in Christ.  After that day, she refused to talk to me after all that because she was in deep regret about rejecting my initial concern and honest advice concerning the situation and was completely withdrawn from everyone to the point that she quit work. I couldn’t find her nor contact her since she was a work colleague and we had different shifts that I didn’t see her all the time but I pray…that in all this, though the deed is done…I pray that she understands that in such circumstances, that’s when you need God the most. She needs to learn to confess before God what she did and release herself from guilt, shame, anguish, the pain of rejection and the deception from her Herodic boyfriend and learn to forgive herself and let go of the blame.
Women, it doesn’t matter what circumstances lead you to deciding to have an abortion because there is no condemnation in Christ. Christ died for us so that we may live free from guilt and shame for our wrongdoing, our weaknesses, failures, mistakes,  and our sins. Don’t allow the devil to leave you feeling such a deep regret for making such decisions…Jesus wants you to have life and live it more abundantly. The devil steals your peace by leaving you to feel such regrets and self-condemning thoughts that torment you into depression that can lead to suicidal thoughts that lead to death.
John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. [Emphasis added]
I am not writing this to condemn those that have or are deciding to have an abortion. I’m writing this post to consider that such an important decision has dire consequences that will affect you for a life-time. Your unborn child doesn’t have a voice to ask you to rescue them from the fate of being killed but you have the power to save your unborn child and at the same time save yourself from suffering the pain that accompanies having an abortion.
I am a testimony of a child saved by my mothers decision to rescue me from the fate of being killed before my own destiny. I praise God for my mother despite the hardship she experienced for saving not just one child but two since I am a twin. I don’t have to be alive to tell you this but this is from the mouth of a child that was saved at conception. Carefully consider your unborn child’s voice above any other persons that seek to condemn the innocent that has yet to be born. Don’t let the HERODs of this world kill the innocent destiny inside of you. Please allow them to live and be like Mary and let the child live.
Remember this when you consider how God loves each one of us:
Psalm 139:14
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.  [Emphasis added]
Jeremiah 1:5
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
[Emphasis added]

Children will bless you for the pain you have endured just as Jesus was a blessing to this already condemned world that was reversed by His life. I implore women to please reconsider your role when you become a mother and seriously understand that life doesn’t happen at birth, it happens at conception. If you decide to listen to the lies of this world that rob you of providing life to a destiny that has yet to be born, you will never know the blessing the child you robbed its life had if you snuff it out.
Read Matthew 2 and see how the concept of abortion isn’t a new thing…it’s been there since the days of old — from the time of Pharaoh in Egypt in the old testament trying to kill the first born sons of the Jews like Moses (Exodus 1:15-22) to the new testament with King Herod doing the same thing but this time it was Jesus (Matthew 2: 16-18). There is nothing new underneath the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9).

Wise Men from the East
1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.
5 So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:
6‘ But you, Bethlehem, inthe land of Judah,
Are not the least among the rulers of Judah;
For out of you shall come a Ruler
Who will shepherd My people Israel.’[a]7 Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.”
9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
12Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.
The Flight into Egypt

13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”
14 When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, 15 and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”[b]

Massacre of the Innocents

16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.17 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying:
18“ Avoice was heard in Ramah,
Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning,
Rachel weepingforher children,
Refusing to be comforted,
Because they are no more.”[c]

To End this Post, I have put a short story that I received from an email about a woman who already had a child but went to the doctor to seek an abortion.
A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said:’Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 year old and I’m pregnant again. I don’t want kids so close together.’So the doctor said: ‘Ok and what do you want me to do?’She said: ‘I want you to end my pregnancy, and I’m counting on your help with this.’The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: ‘I think I have a better solution for your problem. It’s less dangerous for you too.’She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request. Then he continued: ‘You see, in order for you not to have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let’s kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we’re going to kill one of them, it doesn’t matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.’The lady was horrified and said: ‘No doctor! How terrible! It’s a crime to kill a child!”I agree’, the doctor replied. ‘But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.’The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point.

He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that’s already been born and one that’s still in the womb. The crime is the same!

If you agree, please SHARE.

Together we can help save precious lives!

Love says, ‘I sacrifice myself for the good of the other person.’ Abortion says, ‘I sacrifice the other person for the good of myself.’

The Devil would rather have every woman kill off every child’s destiny through abortion because he knows that every Child is born in the image of the Lord and has the power to destroy his works against all mankind.
Scriptures to meditate on as a Last Word:
Romans 16:20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

Revelation 12:17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring–those who obey God’s commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus Christ.

People Come into Your Life for a Reason

A video Post to Inspire your Day. Think about all the relationships you have and have had in the past. Who is in your life that is a divine connection? Who is there to build you? Who is needed by you? Ask all of these questions and seek answers.

Sharpening your Discernment

A short contemplation…well, I’ll try and make it one. I think that as you mature in your relationships with people and with God, you need to understand that you can avoid many problems that arise by practicing sound judgment in your decision-making process. We all need wisdom and we also require discernment.

What is Discernment?

Discernment is a term used to describe the activity of determining the value and quality of a certain subject or event. Typically, it is used to describe the activity of going past the mere perception of something, to making detailed judgments about that thing. As a virtue, a discerning individual is considered to possess wisdom, and be of good judgement; especially so with regard to subject matter often overlooked by others.

Why do you need discernment?

In terms of relationships, be it familial, business, friends, or acquintainces, you need to learn how to assess what type of people you have in your life. I know I wrote an earlier post regarding people you should avoid in life; however, there are also people in this world that you should learn to consider, who are your key connections to your destiny as well. It’s not enough to know who to avoid because you also have to learn who else you should connect yourself with. There are people in your life that are aligned with your destiny as much as you are aligned to theirs. Look back on the post I wrote about Stepping stones and Stumbling blocks.

The success in a relationship is dependent on who you have surrounding you. Do you have wise counsellors or wicked ones? Do you have friends that build you or do you have friends that gravitate towards trouble? Do you have family members that try to pull you down or bring you up? Are your co-workers cooperating with you or conniving against you? Is the proposal for the business plan going to give you profit or increase your losses? These are the types of Questions you need to ask yourself on a daily basis.

When you have sound judgment, you will be able to make the right decisions in your life that will save you from making serious mistakes that can sometimes be life-changing. This is the nature of having what I call General discernment. This level of discernment is at a common level to which we all have; whereas, Spiritual discernment is a higher level of discernment.

The book I have placed at the top of this post is a book I have read in regards to building on Spiritual discernment. It makes references to the discerning of spirits…but for those of you that aren’t Christians, I will call this type of discernment equivalent to the discerning of personalities and characters found in people.

General discernment is simply sound judgment cultivated through experience. Everyone possesses this level of judgment to some degree; however, not all people use sound judgment in their daily affairs. You can get by with a basic level of discernment in your life; however, I believe that in order to have a strong level of discernment, you need to sharpen your spiritual level of discernment.

You must be asking yourself how do I do that??? You first need to know how to nurture your Spirit in order to gain and sharpen your spiritual discernment.

Spiritual discernment is cultivated by prayer and meditation of God’s Word which is the Bible. It is enhanced when you are surrounded by a group of mature Christians who are able to guide you to walk with integrity by assessing the types of personalities that draw you away from that path. You are taught basic principles of what’s right and wrong through the Bible and that is the manual that is able to help people operate in the gifts of the Spirit (the Holy Spirit) [Luke 11:13; 1 Corinthians 12: 1-10; 1 Corinthians 14:1, 12; Hebrews 2:4]. Think of the Book of Proverbs in the Bible. It is full of principles on how to deal with people and helps you to understand what is considered foolishness. It is also really good at pointing out things that lead to us to walk in virtue and distinguishes things that lead us astray. Read Proverbs 1:20-33 concerning Wisdoms Rebuke. I’m sure that scripture will open up your eyes even by a little bit. I would suggest the book of Proverbs as a starting point in regards to building discernment because it has such sound advice about dealing with people, building personal character, and avoiding making serious mistakes in our daily lives to avoid danger and death. Having said that though, don’t forget to seek mentor-ship from mature individuals in your life. You need to be around people that can build you. I cannot emphasize that enough.

Ask yourself, are you even able to tell who is for you and who is against you in your life? Can you tell the difference between a bad idea from a good one?

If you cannot distinguish what is right from wrong then you need to build on your discernment level.

How is discernment helpful?

1.) It enables you to make the correct choices;

2.) It gives you the ability to judge people’s character whether they are good or bad connections in your life;

3.) It allows you to look at things beyond “Face Value”;

4.) It helps build your perception about things and people;

5.) It acts as a guide to foresee and avoid potential trouble that could arise in the future; and

6.) It allows you to pursue a specific course of action at the right time.

It is very important to discern people in particular because people can either make you or break you in this life. In order to walk in wisdom, you need to be surrounded by wise counselors (Proverbs 24:6) if you desire to be successful in your destiny. If you aren’t with the right people, then you need to figure out who and what you have around you that’s weighing you down and preventing you from progression. Surrounding yourself with mature and wise individuals helps in that they can intercede or intervene in a situation that arises against you and they can guide you out of the troubles that you face. They have a deeper perception that you may not have at your current level which is what you need to make sound decisions when confronted with circumstances that you have never dealt with before. Seek wisdom, allow yourself to be corrected and don’t come before your wise mentors with arrogance. If you do that, you will land yourself in trouble and you will not receive the help you require during your time of need if you come off as PROUD and UNTEACHABLE. Humble yourself before them, so that you can grow in knowledge, wisdom, power, and stature. Assess your peers, friends, and family on a daily basis. What fruits do they bear? Do they build you up or pull you down? Check out (Proverbs 12:14; Proverbs 13:2; Matthew 12:33; Galatians 5:22-23 & James 3:17).

Take things on a case by case basis. Seriously consider reading books on the topic if you want to grow in maturity. Don’t let yourself be seduced into the wrong path. Seek wisdom above all else and grow in Spiritual discernment by meditating on the Word of God; The Bible, Amen! (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:2; Psalm 119: 97).

My prayer is that we all learn to grow maturely in discernment and cultivate wisdom by walking in the Spirit and not in the Flesh. Registered & Protected
