The March of the Unqualified – God can use anybody including YOU

Day 13 of 21 Day Daniel Fast – So I’m putting up Sunday’s videos of inspiration today since I may not have time to put it up tomorrow. The focus for this Sunday is to remember that we are all part of the Army of God and He is the one that chooses to use anyone and anything. We should learn not to easily disqualify ourselves when God doesn’t Call the “qualified”, He qualifies the Called. We were all created to worship Him so see Him as Lord over your Life and be obedient to His call for you in your Life. Don’t allow condemnation to rob you of  having a relationship with the Lord. You are Fearfully and wonderfully made. Remember that always. May this video encourage you as you continue in your 21 Day Daniel Fast. Stay Blessed everybody and have a wonderful Sunday!

Psalm 139:14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

This song is a song I love that reminds me that If God can use anything, He can also use me who isn’t perfect and a continuous work in progress. It’s by Ron Kenoly and it’s called If You Can use Anything, Lord. Enjoy this song as it ministers to your spirit.

Understanding the Assignment – The Thieves of Dreams

In God’s Hands

Day 12 of 21 Day Daniel Fast – So for today’s meditation I will talk about the thieves of our dreams.  Some of us have  now past the half way check point of this race and for me it’s been an amazing journey. These meditations keep me grounded and I’m learning a lot as I write each day. I hope that my posts are encouraging, motivating and thought provoking for you as they are for me because I’m still learning to Hear what God has to say. I always pray before I post so that the message is pure and encouraging, I feel like God is preaching to me and I’m all about “Yea and Amen to that Father!” Each time He downloads something into my spirit to talk about in my blog meditations for this Fast. What has Father God put into your Heart? I am not that great at journalizing everything that comes to mind every single day, but blogging has been a great avenue to help me get that habit kicking in. Ok so enough chatter, down to business.

Todays meditation is in respect to the thieves of your dreams. You must understand that when you are making good progress in a project, receiving honorable recognition with an audience, or when you are increasing your cup of faith in your prayer life that is beginning to shine outwardly that people can notice that there is a significant positive difference within you that is shining on the outwards; you are building charisma. To me, Charisma is a Godly divine gift of attraction. It is a privilege NOT a right to have because it serves a purpose and that is to build, bless, and edify others with the WORD of GOD.  You will attract people’s attention and focus on you, but you shouldn’t forget that you also attract the Devil’s attention and all his minions have their eyes set on you as well as their Target to attack with full force and effect.

This Fast is the kind that attracts the Devil’s attention on those peeps that are “for real” with their walk in Christ. Ask yourself, are you even making a dent in the kingdom of darkness to gather their attention on You? Is your prayer life such that it causes crazy things or people to manifest adversely towards you?Are you pressing the right buttons to warrant a reaction to your ACTION (which in this case is through prayer and fasting)? Are your prayers kicking demonic butt? I know I have a tendency to ask funny questions like this, but I’m being serious because these are the kinds of questions I ask myself when I meditate. Am I wishy washy or am I hitting the target when I pray? The point is, when you purpose to aim for the Mark, God steps in and directs your arrows to the target, but if you are praying amiss or are not praying at all…you aren’t hitting anything and are sitting in the boat of mediocrity being tossed by the winds of ignorance.

You should never underestimate your enemies, especially the Adversaries in your life. Men, who are the Delilahs and Jezebels in your life? Women, who are the Ahabs, Herods or Hamans in your Life? Children, who are the Pharoahs and jailers in your life?

We all have adversaries, but can you discern who they are? As the Lords Glory falls upon you through this time of consecration and spiritual purification, you have to understand that there is ALWAYS an assignment on your life and in the lives of your family, friends and networks. It is up to you to RECOGNIZE them as they come because you have to increase in your level of discernment in order to foresee and forgo the battles in your life with wisdom and understanding. When God raises a standard in you, the Enemy rises against you at the same time. The enemy may come in like a flood, but God comes to raise a standard up against the enemy (Isaiah 59:19). You have to be that standard. You have to determine whether or not you will become the standard because like I said before, when there is a great outpouring of Gods overflow, some will be prepared to swim with it and some will drown because they couldn’t handle the overflow which can be explained by one of two things:

1) They refused to handle it; or

2) They didn’t or were not prepared to handle the overflow.

When God plans to elevate you, it’s always for the purpose of giving Him Glory. However, it’s always a CHOICE to follow His WILL above our own. It is up to us to believe that He always wants what is best for us. The question is, have you arrived at a level and prepared yourself to follow His Will? ARE YOU WILLING TO DO HIS WILL IN YOUR LIFE?  Don’t answer this question with haste without putting real effort to think deep about it because, once you say “Yes”, there’s no turning back.

In order to Work your Faith out you need to put what you believe into Practice. If you say you’re gonna meditate on His word, do it, If you’re going to worship him expressively without shame then do it, if you’re going to dance in His name then do it. What ever you believe you have to do to get God’s attention, DO IT. God will fulfill your dreams when you purpose to fulfill His Will in your Life.

When God’s Hand is upon you like a Father who loves His child, the Devil will notice you and you should be sure that your life will encounter some serious spiritual attacks. Let’s not water this down so that you can “sleep well at night”. You have to know the reality so that you can prepare for it. If you don’t prepare, don’t expect your adversaries to halt their attack on you because they are trying to thwart what God has for you because that is their Modus Operandi (Latin: Method of operation) on your life and your dreams which is to Kill, Steal and Destroy (John 10:10). Don’t wait to be on the defensive against your adversaries when you can start to be on the Offensive. You already have what you need which is your weapons of warfare that are not carnal, but are mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). REMEMBER THAT! Also, always operate with Humility and with Wisdom. Seek God for DIVINE ideas and strategies for effective warfare. You need God every step of the way.

Dream thieves are those that are Destiny Killers. They are people assigned to tempt you away from God’s purpose in your life. This is why discernment is crucial. You have to build your ability to discern your friends from your foes and your enemies from your allies. If you don’t know how to do it, then now is the time to seek wisdom in this area. Read my post Sharpening Your Discernment in order to prepare your mind for the times ahead. I’m still learning to sharpen my discernment, but let me tell you that during this Fast, I’ve been noticing some crazy things going on and it’s because my spirit has become heightened and quite sensitive to the things happening around me. You must always rely on God and if you ask Him to point out your Foes, He will show you provided that you are ready to accept the reality that some of them maybe people you trust. Can you handle the truth?

If you want to move up in life and progress towards your destiny, you must prepare your Heart and Spirit to accept what God reveals to you when He removes the scales off your Eyes. Are you ready for that slap of reality to wake you up? I know it doesn’t sound inviting, but the truth will make you free.

So ask yourself if living in ignorance to those who are devising methods to cap your potential is bliss or is the harsh reality that unveils what was always lying underneath the surface of things the best for YOU?

I think it’s better to seek the truth and remove the scales so that you can reach your full potential as a person and achieve great things in this life with a heart that is steadfast and unwavering. Let GOD expose your enemies so that you can arrest the thieves of your dreams. Pray about it and seek wisdom as you continue to Fast and seek Gods face to SHARPEN YOUR DISCERNMENT.

Going the Distance – Building on Perserverance to Finish the Race

Day 11 of 21 Day Daniel Fast –  How many are you feeling a phsyical, emotional and spiritual change at this half-way point? You know when you run a long distance marathon, there are check points for runners to grab water or a towel to pat dry their sweat. Is this where you are right now? Has this Fast made you see how much you can endure when putting pressure in the supernatural realm to evoke a change in the natural? This is the test of endurance. Endurance that is cultivated by patience and built up perseverance. This has not been an easy Fast at all for me. I have gone a full week and have started to see so many things I need to curb within myself in order to pursue the greater things that God has for me. My expectations are to grow with a heart that mirrors Christ and yet when certain things rub me the wrong way, it can be discouraging at times when God is doing a great shaking in you to purify your soul to reflect His image. How many of you are experiencing this?

Today’s meditation is about Learning as you go along the way when Seeking God’s face and stretching your ears to Hear what He has to say to you in this time of Prayer and Fasting. Ask yourself, are you ready to bear the weight and the responsibility of the answer that He wants to download to your address? Sometimes in receiving the answer, we cannot be idly satisfied of  just receiving it and not anticipate that there could be more work for us to do. Look at what happened to Daniel in Chapters 10 & 11. He didn’t just receive an answer, he received further instructions to prepare for what was yet to come.

Are you even considering that the answers you receive may entail more work for YOU to do? Are you even prepared to handle that? Those  are the questions that are in my mind right now. Am I ready? Am I really prepared to handle what God has in store? To be quite honest, I am afraid of what God’s plans are for me but at the same time, I want to have the courage and walk by faith into it and do it afraid anyway. You can’t afford to mill around your comfort zones because great dreams, great visions, great faith require great measures, great preparation, and great ACTION. This is what has been in my heart at the moment. “Where is God taking me?” is the question. Where is GOD taking YOU???? Think about that and circle back when you receive your answers. Consider it, Reflect on it, Pray about it and then Act on it.

Going the distance to finish the race entails that you are gathering a level of mental preparation to PERFORM whatever is required of you to get to the finish line. The thing you need to understand is that you are persevering in your Fast through prayer and meditation to achieve your goals in the Spirit so that they manifest in the Natural.

You Fast, You Pray and then there is another step that accompanies these things which you have to prepare to do and that is You ACT. When YOU know better (after receiving revelation, answers etc) YOU DO better by acting on what YOU now KNOW (James 4:17).

Another thing you should understand is, that there is indeed more work required of you after the Fast has ended. So suffer no delusions my friends and family; PREPARE to Work,  PREPARE to Endure, PREPARE to Persevere, PREPARE yourself to put into action ALL the things you learned during the Daniel Fast in practical ways in your life.  Faith without works is DEAD (James 2:14). Remember, what I said in my earlier Post, Don’t do this Fast in Vain. Keep expecting a Change within to manifest a Change throughout.  Stay Blessed everybody.

Calling Forth Things as Though they Were

Day 10 of 21 Daniel Fast –  Today’s contemplation is about calling forth things that didn’t exist in your life before as though they do now. Faith must take us to that place where we no longer rely on our physical senses to walk by sight and allow us to tap into the Spiritual realm for our Blessings as we walk by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7). If Jesus could talk to a fig tree and remove the blessing of Life out of it causing the fig tree to die, then we also have the ability to speak life into our situations and speak death into things that need to stop tormenting us or giving us pain. We can seek God to make our sicknesses flee and call forth healing, we can drive away darkness and call forth victory in our circumstances, but this is all dependent on your level of FAITH.

I am still learning what it means to increase it day by day so today’s encouragement is about speaking Life into your current circumstances. God gave us authority over all things in the Earth in the very beginning of Adam and Eve and we have to learn to work with our inheritance. We have to learn how to work our Faith out. We can remain passive and allow for our spiritual gifts to remain dormant till the day we die, or we can take up our mantles of SONSHIP and exercise our GOD-given authority over our lives and COMMAND blessings into our lives.

Many a time we get distracted with what’s happening around us that we forget we have the Authority in JESUS’ NAME to call forth things and speak life or death to a thing. Let’s exercise our SONSHIP in CHRIST and Speak LIFE for blessings to come down be it household salvation, financial breakthrough, healing and deliverance, whatever your need is from GOD. Like Daniel who fasted and prayed and received his answer on the 24th day (Daniel 10:4-14), we also have to speak LIFE into our situations. If you want curses such as divorce, anger, sickness, etc to flee like the FIG tree that Jesus spoke to, command DEATH to those things that self-exalt themselves against the knowledge and the WILL of GOD in your life (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Although we have God-given authority to speak life and death to a situation, I must emphasize here that HUMILITY is key here.Divine Authority is a privilege that should not be abused under any circumstances and must be handled with SELF-CONTROL! You are given authority not to abuse but to bless and edify. Remember that when you go about your prayer life business.

Here I have 2 songs to encourage you. I couldn’t decide which one to put here so I decided…why not put both and eliminate the unnecessary indecision. They both are amazing songs to fill your day. Stay Blessed everyone!

Scriptures to Meditate

Proverbs 27:18
Whoever keeps the fig tree will eat its fruit; So he who waits on his master will be honored.

Matthew 21:19
And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the fig tree withered away.

Matthew 21:21
So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done.

Mark 11:23
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Romans 4:17
(as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations” ) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written: “ Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Psalm 133:3
It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.

Luke 10:19
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Proverbs 29:2
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.

Matthew 8:9
For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

Luke 9:1
Sending Out the Twelve ] Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.

Luke 19:17
And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’

John 16:13
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

John 17:2
as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.

1 Corinthians 9:18
What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel. Registered & Protected

Wisdom for Effective Victory – Choosing your Battles Wisely

Day 9 of 21 Day Daniel Fast –  Yay! My swollen eye is healed. It took 24 hrs but it’s all better now. God is GOOD!!! I heard from some of my colleagues that it could have been a spider bite *yikes*. I sincerely hope not! At first I contemplated putting my pic with the swollen eye on here but then again I thought…..hmmm…. nah…people might get grossed out so just know that it’s healed everybody lol.

Today’s meditation is about choosing your battles wisely. Yes, it is a given that we are to remain focused on the goal at hand here but do not ignore your enemies gorilla warfare tactics on your soul! When you are in engaged in Spiritual warfare, you have to understand that the Devil isn’t sitting there watching you win…he isn’t going to let you get HIM while he’s sitting down. You are always on the offensive as you fight for your victory through Prayer and Fasting.  Keep your expectations high and then make them higher. This battle isn’t a walk in the park either so you shouldn’t rely on perceiving things with our natural senses  since you are supposed to be seeking the Gifts of the Holy Spirit at this time because He is the Great Helper in such situations. If you want deliverance and healing in your life or in the lives of others, including your family, make sure you understand that you’ve got to keep your mind together. This isn’t the time to crack under pressure. You will suffer battle fatigue but that’s because you are many steps ahead to your victory through Jesus. The Lord will go ahead of you in battle and will ensure your Victory as you fight the Good fight of Faith.

Matthew 11:12
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

I must also emphasize that although we acknowledge that we are in a serious battle, you also have to learn how to choose your battles wisely. Don’t just pick up and react to everything that is happening around you. You should already know that the agenda of your adversary is to place key people you have in your life (with vile intentions) to rile you into anger and act on it foolishly because their aim is to get you offended. Make no mistake and realize that you will start to see the wolves in sheep’s clothing (Matthew 10:16) and when you do, you must act with prudence and with wisdom.

You’ll see things that you never saw before because God will lift the scales off your eyes to see what you never noticed before (Acts 9:18). You will experience people trying to agitate you during this Fast and it’s all about holding your ground and remaining steadfast in the midst of the battle (1 Chronicles 28:7). You should learn how to respond appropriately rather than react negatively to situations as they arise because when you are racked up with your emotional self, you will fail to reason and will act on things without wisdom. The point I am getting to here is that you have to choose to be better than your OLD self. You are Fasting to become a NEW creation and toss away your childish behaviors of the past (1 Corinthians 13:11). In order to mature with Wisdom, you have to set aside the foolish reactions, the foolish ideas, the foolish counsel (wayward thoughts, friends, family members or peers) that lead you astray, the foolish things that poke fun at Divine Wisdom that guides you into your victory.

You’ve got to ask yourself can you afford to go through this Fast and finish UNCHANGED???? This is why I keep saying, don’t do things in Vain. If you aren’t determining to come out NEW and transformed from this Fast, you are wasting time and I suggest that you don’t continue fasting because it will be done in Vain.

For those that are persevering for their breakthrough, understand that the Greater the Need that you have of God requires a Greater sacrifice. You don’t have to stop Fasting after 21 Days if you feel led to continue, but remember the focus is to dismantle the works of the wicked one in your life through prayer and meditation of God’s Word and to intercede on behalf of your family, your church, your workplace and your political leaders that govern the land that you live in.

Expect to receive answers from Heaven, Expect to be Transformed and Renewed, Expect to increase your level of FAITH and Expect to Prosper with the Guidance of the Holy Spirit that provides Wisdom in your Daily affairs. Seek HIM (JESUS) and HE will answer YOU.  You have to believe that in order to receive what He already has for you.

Here are 2 Videos to Help you Keep Encouraged as you go day-to-day in your daily battles. Remain Blessed in all that you Do and You seek HIS face.

Increasing Your Spiritual Discernment while Engaging the Battle

Day 8 of 21 Day Daniel Fast –  So I’m down to 2 weeks left of this Fast, some people have just started and some who started earlier are already experiencing differences within their Fast. I think this is worthy of Praising God for, AMEN!

I did have a rough morning today in that I went to work and my entire left eye was swollen like as if somebody had punched me in the eye also coupled with a bad dream that I had last night but the whole swelling of my eye thing caught me off guard because it was unexpected and unexplainable. My Boss is very gracious to me and I praise God for her and my colleagues who were all concerned and egging me on to visit a clinic that’s just down the street to make sure I’m OK. At my workplace I’m treated like family so the encouragement was very supportive for me.

I went to the clinic and the good news was that it wasn’t an infectious eye infection. It was diagnosed as an allergic reaction to something (i.e. makeup or food). However, the doctor kept marveling by how swollen it looked and how I didn’t have blurred vision nor experience pain which is typical for the things he’s seen. Now when I heard this, I thought to myself that I have never had so much as an allergic reaction to something in my entire life so you can imagine my surprise. Despite this, I took the Doc’s advice and prescription and prayed to God about it all because at the end of the day You have to believe in the Report of the Lord over your life. By His Stripes I am Healed in Jesus’ Name.

Isaiah 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

Today, I want to talk about understanding the battle and the importance of increasing your discernment during this time. Like I said before, when you Fast, your senses become sharpened/heightened. Ask yourself, do you feel the difference???? I personally feel that my discernment is increasing. It is important to increase in this area  since it is a supernatural battle we’re engaged in to make the natural submit to the Holy Spirit. If you aren’t purposing to increase your discernment, then I suggest that you start pursuing it  NOW and seek to do so because you aren’t battling a battle of flesh and blood.

Ephesians 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

So many strange things will start to occur during this Fast and it is up to you do determine and seek from God to sharpen your discernment so that you can understand the strange things that are happening in your environment and also consider the change you are experiencing from within. When I mean sharpen your discernment I mean, purpose to increase with wisdom and knowledge with UNDERSTANDING so that you are able to take the wisest course of actions when confronted with something in any situation or circumstance.

As man looks at the outward appearance of men, God looks at the Heart. We must discern and seek to understand a person for who they truly are rather than marveling at the outward appearance because appearances can be deceiving. You have to understand and learn to be able to point out who your friends are from your foes, who is trustworthy within your family amongst your multitude of relatives, who your allies are from your contenders in the workplace. Seek to sharpen your discernment so that you operate with DIVINE WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING that enables you to choose Godly courses of action when confronting your variety of ADVERSARIES.  I recommend reading my earlier post called Sharpening your Discernment as a starting point so that you increase in your level of wisdom to God’s level that He has for you.

I have  NOT 1, but 2 Awesome Videos for you to Watch today as you meditate on Sharpening your Discernment as the Inner you continues to Transform into God’s Image. He is the Final Architect of our Lives so allow the Master Builder to build you into a strong Tower for His Name Sake. Be Blessed Everyone!

Preparing for the Answer – Blessing is Power

Day 4 of 21 Day Daniel Fast –  I walked into my office building and noticed my company’s billboard ad that had a catch phrase saying “Character is Everything”. My meditation today is in regards to how blessings give us power but in order to be blessed and remain blessed we must develop our Character.

As you already know I am fasting on a lot of things and one of those things which I am feeling the effects of withdrawal is Tea. I love my tea. When I was a kid, my grandpa taught me how to brew him tea properly *for his sake mind you* lol. We didn’t have tea bags as we do now because he preferred the use of tea leaves. I would have to first boil water and put it in the ceramic/porcelain tea pot so that the tea pot was warm. After I warmed the pot, I had to empty the water that was in it and put the tea leaves in. I would then pour  freshly boiled water into the pot and stir for a short time and close the lid on the tea pot. I would let the tea stand for at least 3 minutes so that it Steeps. The water had to be very hot mind you and then when I poured it for Him he would sip it in his cup and I would await one of two facial expressions:

1) a face full of joy for a “job well done”; or

 2) the gagging reflex of “I want to spew this tea and make you do it all over again until you get it right child!”.

When I was hasty at making my grandpa tea because “I had better things to do”,  I would do it anyhow because I was too preoccupied with wanting to watch my cartoons or whatever and my grandpa wouldn’t have it until I made the tea right.  If I didn’t do it right the first time, he’d chuck the whole pot full and make me do it all over again with him standing there. Talk about CHASTISEMENT *sheesh*! I laugh about it now when I think back on it since I had to make him tea three times a day…serious training I tell you. I figured after that chastising lesson I would always purpose to make his tea the “right way” so that he wouldn’t nag me anymore. When I did things the right way, he would be pleased and would often reward me at times or just give me a positive affirmation on a job “well done”.

The Lesson Here is: Avoid the drama and wasting of time by learning and being teachable enough to do things right.

You must be wondering “Where I’m going with this tea business?”.  Humor me and keep reading.

My tea story is a reflection of how we treat the things of GOD. When we act like holiness doesn’t require an attitude adjustment and correction then we do things haphazard and the end result is futility and mediocrity which is more of a character and personality likened to lukewarm tea that is worth spitting out. We shouldn’t have a lukewarm attitude if we want to receive blessings and answers from God.

Maturity in character is developed by having a TEACHABLE spirit. We must purpose to correct and adjust our Characters in order for God’s grace to shine on us and prepare us to receive the answers that we seek from HIM. Make the tea the right way — meaning adjust your Character to do what is right so that it is pleasing toward God. You will be rewarded when you do things the “right way” with the right frame of mind with a humble and teachable spirit to form a GODLY Character.

During this 21 Day Daniel Fast we must remember that Daniel did all He was meant to do in order to grab Gods attention and receive his answer from God. He sought His face with patience, care, endurance, perseverance and with a Character that already Feared the Lord. God was pleased with him and the answer came down from Heaven from an angelic host to confirm that God had heard Daniel’s prayers as you read Daniel 10: 10-12. Daniel had the character to receive the answer and be blessed (Daniel 6:3; Daniel 6:28; Daniel 2:48). He was mature enough to handle the fact that the answer came from an unlikely source (an angelic host).

My question to you is are you mature enough to handle the idea that your answer will come from an unlikely source????

1 Kings 17: 8-16

Elijah and the Widow
8 Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying, 9 “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” 10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, indeed a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a cup, that I may drink.” 11 And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”
12 So she said, “As the LORD your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”
13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the LORD sends rain on the earth.’”
15 So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days. 16 The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke by Elijah.

What can you learn about the Elijah and the Widow story?

1. Elijah was God’s chosen Prophet and he obeyed God’s command to go to the location where he was to be fed by a widow. He did as he was Instructed to do (a powerful display of God fearing obedience, humility and faithfulness in Character).

2. The widow was anticipating the arrival of Elijah since she was commanded by God to give him food.

3. It was a time of drought that produced no food so the widow was prepared to make one last meal with her child and die after that.

4. God was providing the answer to the widow’s plight by sending Elijah the Tishbite Prophet to her address – Who was her blessing, her answer from God from an unlikely source.

5. Elijah gave her instructions to make him a cake to eat with all that she had left (flour & oil). She obeyed and listened to instruction (a true display of a teachable & humble character that is GOD fearing) and prepared what she was instructed to do knowing full well she had nothing left to lose since she and her son were going to die anyway.

6. The Lord Blessed her obedience by blessing her with DIVINE Provision. Through Gods servant – Elijah the prophet,  her supply of food and oil did not run out until the rain came. This saved her and her family (Household Salvation).

7. The Lord blessed her Household with the abundance of the OVERFLOW during a time of famine. Our God is a God of More than Enough!

When I read this scripture the first thought that came to mind is Do you know where your answer will come from? Do you have any idea who God will send to confirm your answer??? You must prepare your mind and your spirit to accept the idea that the answers that you seek for your breakthroughs can and will come from an unlikely source. Are you ready to handle that TRUTH???? Can you honestly say that you are mature enough to handle and accept your miracle from God knows where????? What have you done to shape your character to receive the blessings of the Lord? This is a question I pose to both YOU and I. Also be mindful of how you treat strangers, they may be holding the blessing or the breakthrough that you seek in your time of need. You have no idea who God will send to your address and by what means. Remember that.

Think about that as you proceed in your meditations during this 21 Day Daniel Fast.

I can’t remember which movie I heard this saying but I remember someone saying “The Truth! The Truth, You Want the TRUTH????! You can’t handle the Truth!!!”.  Don’t be someone who can’t handle the truth….because the TRUTH is what sets you and your family free (John 8:32)!

Ignoring the Drama – Walk by Faith and NOT by Sight

Day 2 of the Fast. Wow, I went a whole day yesterday without TEA! So far no withdrawal symptoms lol. Ok ok enough about the tea business. I just had to comment on it.  So todays meditation comes from those that experience naysayers and distractions during your Fast. When you tell people that you are going to embark on a 21 Day Daniel Fast and they start to look at you like as if you’re from Mars, ignore their reactions. You will have naysayers whom don’t understand what you are doing and may be critical or poke fun of your spiritual exercise. What I want to say is, IGNORE THE DRAMA of it all. Those that have no clue what you are doing can say whatever they want to say but what they don’t realize is that they are criticizing your relationship with God. Such people have to look at their own cup of Faith and wonder why theirs is empty and not even half full????? Do not concern yourself with naysayers and discouragers, for they are a distractions from the goal sourced from the demonic realms  as a reaction to your Fast.

Remember that you are in a Spiritual Battle at all times during this Fast and you haven’t got time to react to everybodies voice of criticism.

Maintain the FOCUS which is YOUR relationship with the LORD. Fix your Eyes on JESUS.

Also, for those Fasting, do not look to your left and to your right wondering about another persons journey on their Fast. I’m not talking about being curious, I’m talking about comparing your spiritual journey with theirs. You will cause yourself to be like the person standing in a race watching others run. Focus on your race and determine to reach the Finish line. Understand that running the race isn’t about “Winning” it’s about “FINISHING”. God’s concerned with you finishing the race and not having a misguided view about competing with others.

We are all brothers and sisters in Christ so there is no need to compete with your brothers and sisters when you should be focusing on your own level of spiritual growth. Comparing your cup of Faith with others won’t help you increase your faith if you keep focusing on anothers level. Remember that we are all born different with different callings and different spiritual gifitings so maintain your focus on maximizing your capacity to increase your Faith to perform at your optimum level. God created a diversity of giftings in order for people to work together. Diversity of Giftings is God’s idea so do not focus on anothers gift when you’re supposed to be focusing on increasing your unique gifting in this World. You are needed in the Body of Christ so Maintain the FOCUS on yourself between you and GOD. If you don’t know what your giftings are at this point, then this Fast is a great starting point to focus on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:8-10

8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same[a] Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

Fasting is like a test of ENDURANCE. For an athelete, they know that they have to prepare ahead of time before engaging a marathon, so consider your time during this Fast as a test of Endurance. You are on the right track when you block out all distractions and temptations to derail you away from the goal. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your FAITH (Hebrews 12:2).

Walk by Faith and Not By Sight

For whatever it is that you are praying for during this Fast, don’t concern yourself with the negative. Your senses will deceive you out of your promise if you don’t maintain your focus on JESUS. Remember that Faith is the substance of things Hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen (Hebrews 11:1). It doesn’t matter what is going on in your environment right now, the battle is being won in the SPIRIT. Always remember that. Do not be disheartened if people start to act crazy around you or if things start reacting and acting weird. You are engaged in a Spiritual Battle that is manifesting in the Natural, so understand that your Prayers are being Heard and the authority you have in Jesus are your weapons of warfare that are not Carnal, but are Mighty in God for pulling down Strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4).

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

Romans 12:3

5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Bread of Heaven – The Living Word

For this post I remembered a song that fills me each time I think about Jesus and what He means to us on a personal basis. Since the Year 2011 is nearing a close I wanted to thank God for giving us weapons of warfare that are not carnal but are mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4).Remember this scripture as you start your 21 Day Daniel Fast. This Fast is quite intense in its own way and I know that I’ve started to feel like I have to prepare my mind for it. Knowing that I am not participating on my own is a big encouragement. I expect from God to Reveal to us more of Himself during the New Year and to Increase my level of Faith. What are you expecting from God in your Fast? Always remember that you must have a focus and an expectation of receiving answers from God when you Fast and Pray. If you participate in such an spiritual exercise with no expectations whatsoever, then you will do things in Vain. Never do things in vain and never do things for the sake of doing it just because everybody else is doing it because that’s foolishness. You must have resolve, purpose and drive to do the things you do. If you are planning to participate with your church during this Fast, remember that You have to build that level of expectation to increase your Faith level. Throw away your cups of doubt and skepticism and bring your cups of Faith to recharge and refuel. This Fast is intended to build you into spiritual maturity so increase your expectations in order to receive from the Lord.

Things that you can focus on during your Daniel Fast:

Pray for your Political Leaders, Law Makers, Businesses,Workplaces, Education, Health, Family & Friends, the Unsaved to find Christ this Year and don’t forget to Pray for yourself.

Seek: Gifts of the Holy Spirit, Increased Spiritual Discernment,  Wisdom to carry out wise courses of action, Divine Revelation of the Word, Deliverance, Healing, Familial Salvation, direction in your destiny, increase in Faith and understanding of the Word.

Do not forget: Read the Word, Pray with the Word, Meditate on the Word and Live by the Word.

When you do all this, you will become sharp and God will increase your capacity to receive supernatural downloads of His Goodness and Mercy on your Life. Your character will be shaped by this level of discipline. Be encouraged and motivated by this Fast and see how you transform during the 21 Days.

Suggestion: Journalize each day to see how the Lord is changing you. I have never done it before but one of my favorite blogger friends called Nadie is thinking of doing it and I think it’s a great idea. I might end up doing this just to see how I’m growing during this fast. It’s only a suggestion so consider it an exercise to monitor your progression during the Fast.

This song I am posting is by Fred Hammond called You are the Living Word. May it encourage you and bless you. Registered & Protected

Beauty that overshadows the real War inside

I was thinking over the weekend how at times I find myself just crying over the suffering of mankind and I feel like there are moments where I can’t help but feel overly sensitive. This sometimes happens to me when I’m in my prayer closet talking to the Lord as I ask Him questions about the current world condition and how to proceed to be an effective intercessor. During this particular time, I  was reminded of when I once lived in Kenya for 3 years, how I saw the suffering of the people everyday as I was driven to and from school and I remember being a spiritually sensitive child that could sense evil and the presence of it in people and within my environment. Poverty is evil! It tears families apart, it breaks the human soul and it ravages the helpless. When I lived there as a kid, I remember feeling afraid  everyday because I used to have nightmares often about evil beings trying to get me. The place where we stayed was in Nairobi, the Capital City where violence was an everyday occurrence… Newspapers were always filled with bad news…no glimmer of hope

Slums in Nairobi

Let me state for a fact that Kenya is indeed  a beautiful country with a rift valley and skies that hover beautiful terrain but underneath this terrain, the beauty that one can witness is overshadowed by the reality of the suffering of the people that live in this beautiful land.

I remember reading a UN report on the current status of the country where I lived in the city of Nairobi and I remember seeing slums everywhere, and  from what I’ve read, the current situation is much worse than I remember it. Apparently, curfew is now recommended to be at 6pm in the slum areas because if you aren’t back in your homes before that time, the chances of a woman or child getting raped or killed is most likely 100%. Where I lived, we had guards at the gate with rifles…it was that dangerous. You cannot underestimate bandits, killers and soo on. My Grandma was robbed in broad daylight by men with machetes. Usually when you wear jewellery on your wrist, robbers would usually cut the hand off to obtain the item or even worse kill you to get the items. When I heard that my grandma was in that situation, I was at school at the time and cried because I thought she was dead. I prayed to God

praying that she was alive and safe. When I got home, she was fine. Her watch was stolen and her money taken but she was intact..nothing missing nothing broken…they just took the jewelry and ran off…they didn’t want to kill her or the driver. I PRAISE GOD for saving my grandma! God is indeed an awesome God.

However, in spite of this…I can’t help but feel emotional pain when I think of how my Indian friend’s father was murdered at his office in broad daylight. He was a well to do business man and yet…he was not immune to being attacked…he was murdered. Another family destroyed by evil. Evil knows no bounds…it doesn’t discriminate….

As a kid I began to learn that evil was everywhere and I was constantly living in fear….and yet my grandfather told me to be brave…I was 8 and yet I had to be brave….

I went to a boarding school in the outskirts in  the countryside (1hr drive from home) for Form 1 which is English standard for Grade 7 (I think), and I was a weekly boarder who came home on the weekend and let me tell you, I was terrified of living far from my grandparents. I used to suffer severe nightmares when I lived in Kenya…I saw things that were unexplainable and experienced the worst sicknesses when I was there. When I remember all those things, I feel convinced that at the time all I could sense was evil. During that time I wasn’t a strong Christian as I am now…I was born a Catholic but I didn’t really believe in praying to “saints” for help…I believed in praying directly to GOD for help. I think that belief was the only thing that would later anchor me to Christ in the future when I got saved at age 15 later on in China, which was yet another country that outlaws open worship and persecutes underground Chinese  Christians. However, that’s another story….

Hurricane Katrina

I remember that during my 3 years in Kenya, I prayed everyday for God to take us out of this country…My grandparents couldn’t leave until they were told to go to the next country and that is how long we had to stay there. I prayed like crazy crying to God to leave because I couldn’t handle the level of evil I felt in that place. I couldn’t handle seeing evil in my face. I remember seeing our neighbour punishing his worker with a wooden bat for stealing bread because his living conditions were so bad and he was poor. The master kept hitting him until I saw blood flow. I remember feeling traumatized after seeing that. I was upstairs peeking behind the curtain watching him hit the man over and over from across the road and for some reason….the man stopped hitting the man and for some reason….looked up at the window and saw me witnessing this atrocity. I remember feeling shaken with fear in that what I saw wasn’t a man…but something very very evil in that man. I don’t know how he sensed that I was watching him from across the street on the second floor with a small peeking crack from my bedroom curtain…but I believe…that something evil in him could sense me watching him hurt this weak but poor worker. I truly hoped I was not witnessing a murder. I didn’t return to watch the conclusion…but my spirit cannot forget the mans screaming… I told my Grandpa….but he told me that police would do much worse to him if we called them….It seems that money can silence the police and poverty increases victims to this perversity. As a kid hearing this reality, that literally disheartened me in so many ways more than one in that now I knew that not even police could be trusted in this land…Corruption cultivates and facilitate further evils.

I know that I should be writing an uplifting post but I can’t seem to shake these things that I have experienced.I feel like I have to let all these painful emotions out. So I apologize in advance to the reader reading this.

Hurricane Katrina Floods New Orleans

After Hurricane Katrina, The Tsunami and the Typhoon that has just ravaged the Philippines just recently that is being covered by Joyce’s post called National State of Calamity: 2011’s last SCREAM, I keep thinking that God gave us the Earth as a gift and yet no matter how many pictures we see in our world atlas to see the beautiful globe in its majestic glow, underneath the surface, there are worldwide atrocities, worldwide evils that are continuing to afflict the innocent and remain hidden under the surface of things because we have cultivated an “Out of sight, out of mind” mentality. God, I believe has broken my heart many times to feel so sensitive to world issues. I know that my grandfather was a major influence on my life in that he used to tell me that you should be careful how you treat people, “You don’t who will help you or kill you if you treat them badly”. He said this to me in Kenya…and with good reason in that you don’t want people to conspire to murder your entire family knowing full well the dangers that exist behind some peoples smiles.

In Kenya…it isn’t a place where you just treat people anyhow…if anything…that place humbled me to the point of being terrified. I was about 8 years old having these thoughts and lived there until I was 10 or 11 years old. No kid should have to feel terrified the way I was, and yet each day I praise God for saving me. I suffered spiritual attacks there too but I won’t go into too much depth with that here all I want to say is that living there changed my perspective on life and living as usual in that when I see Westerners acting like

View of the Rift Valley via Trip Advisor

spoiled people who have the luxury of having a roof over their heads, and can live while grumbling about their 9 to 5’s that they have to get up in the morning, I think…if only people knew what life was really like in the world where fear is your everyday battle ground, where food is as precious as finding gold in the ground, where clean water is as rare as mining for a diamond, where safety and security isn’t marked by a curfew of 6pm…would we change the way we treat people? Would we change how we treat what we have differently? Would our hearts stop being hardened or will our senses that are numbed by commercialized violence be softened so that we are no longer desensitized to the realities of the ever present evil that exists in this life???? When my sister and I got a call to pack our bags at our boarding school because we were leaving the country…you have no idea how relieved and excited I was to hear this Good news. I felt like “At last…my God has heard my prayers!!!!!”…

I remember crying for a very very long time…I could not really feel true relief until I was on that plane officially. When I was on the plane heading back home to Zimbabwe, I was praising my God and still crying. My Grandma and Grandpa began to realize how truly terrified I was living there with my tears constantly flowing. I really was a terrified child. My twin was stronger than me but I suffered a lot in that place that I can’t even begin to tell you how much I still Thank God to this day for getting me out of there. Despite all that…my heart is permanently broken for the people that still live in that place constantly living in that fear that I have escaped. I believe that the Gospel needs to reach these parts of the world that need to see the light shine in all that darkness. Kenya isn’t the only ravaged country because there are many such as Rawanda, DRCongo, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, North Korea, parts of Russia, Mexico, Cuba, etc.

The Devil is real and he enjoys us ignoring this truth by distracting our attention and focus off of Him and making us focus on our daily troubles and affairs while blinding us to His works to bring pain in our lives. We can get overly absorbed in ourselves that we cannot see what is really happening underneath our noses.  All I’m saying is that we should seriously seek God’s face to make us more aware that the battle in this beautiful Earth that He gave us to live is truly not against Flesh and Blood….it’s against the evils that exist in this world.

Ephesians 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Corruption, Greed, Blood lust, War, Poverty, Violence, Death, Famine, Destruction, Natural Disasters….we have soo much to pray for. I know that as we head into 2012…we must not forget to pray against these evils because God is Lord over all but we silence that truth by our apathy, our indifference, lack of concern to world news until it hits us right at home…. Must we wait until evil reaches our soil to start praying?????? Remember Hurricane Katrina….there was so much lawlessness that ensued after that un-natural disaster hit. Whereever you are in the world…pray and seek God’s face to heal your countries land so that the Devil has no room to continue petitioning to rob the people of peace and security. We have to remain secure in Christ because the days are evil but we can pray in unity and consecrate ourselves before God so that He will hear from heaven the cry of our hearts for DIVINE INTERVENTION. Evil rulers are being dethroned and it is time for us to fight in the Spirit through prayer to continue battling and seeing God to triumph over EVIL. We can only overcome Evil with GOOD and with GOD!!!!

Colossians 2:15
Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Right now this is the cry that is in my heart…tears flow as I write this. Many churches are heading into the 21 Day Daniel Fast and my Church is participating. I am going to seek God in these areas that have been overwhelming me and I hope that you will participate where ever you are in the world. Let us Seek Gods Face for the Year 2012 and seek Change in countries that need God’s grace and mercy to Heal the Land and Heal it’s inhabitants. Let us stand in the gap, people shouldn’t have to live in fear like I once did…everyone has the right to live secure in Christ and in His Peace. Let us Intercede for those that need it most and pray fervently to see a supernatural move of God in the lives that struggle to see His face in this Love-starved World.

2 Chronicles 7:14-15

14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.

I have a song that has been ministering to me and it’s from Deitrick Haddon’s new CD CHURCH ON THE MOON. The song is called “Gravity”. I hope you like it. Registered & Protected
