Press Forward Towards the Goal

Hello Peeps!

Today, I wanted to post an encouraging short video (less than 4 mins long) that is a voice over of Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church. Always look forward at possibilities and do not look back at your setbacks as a measuring stick to whether or not you’ll succeed in life.

The Bible even tells us to do this one thing:

Philippians 3:12-14 – 12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

It is important that we lay aside the naysayers in our lives and focus on what we have to do in order to succeed. How you view failure(s) will determine whether or not you’ll press on forward to pursue to succeed. In my opinion, failures are learning lessons of what not to do next time. They do not define your true capabilities to achieve greatness.

Image result for press forward facebook bannerIf you choose to define yourself on the basis of failures, you’ll fail to learn the lessons that you could learn from them in order to see what it is that you must do in order to overcome any obstacles. You only lose in a race when you decide to stop running it. It really doesn’t matter what position you come in when you run a race…the important part is simply finishing it. So in everything that you do in life, do not focus on the runners beside you…focus on your goal and reach it. Those that cross the finish line after refusing to give up are the true winners in life.

If you choose to start something, finish it. Learn from the journey and grow from your mistakes. When you don’t give up because of simple setbacks, you’ll find out what your true potential is as you decide to break the barriers of limitations that people place against you or the types that you place against yourself in your mind. Always choose to advance forward and you will attain that which you hoped for and fought for, Amen! I pray that as you watch this video, may it motivate you and encourage you in your journey called “Life”. God Bless You Everybody! 😀

Programming Your Mind – Think Positive

Hello Peeps!

Today, I want to post a great video of this guy who talks about Programming your mind. The verse of scripture that comes to mind when I think about how we conduct ourselves in light of how we think comes from:

Proverbs 23:7 [Full Chapter]

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.

It is important to note that what you meditate on whether it be through what you read, what you watch on TV, or observe in your everyday life, that you filter through the rubbish that shouldn’t contaminate your soul. Even the Bible emphasizes this in the following scripture:

Philippians 4:8 [Full Chapter]

Meditate on These Things ] Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthymeditate on these things.

So as you watch this video, remember that in your everyday lives, you must meditate on things that are True, Noble, Just, Pure, Lovely, of Good Report, and Anything that has Virtue and is Praiseworthy… these are the things you should feed your Spirit. If you aren’t involved in any activities that contribute to your soul being fed these 8 good things, then you are feeding yourself the exact opposite of these 8 good things which would be things that are False, Undignified, Unjust, Dirty, Ugly, of Bad report, Immoral and Anything Dishonorable. We need to make sure that we feed our spirits the right things because it’s the same thing with food, “You are what you eat”, so in the case of feeding your Spirit-man – “You are what you feed your Spirit”. Ask yourself what are you feeding your spirit today as you watch this video, Amen! I pray that it blesses your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody! 😀

To end this post I want to post an old song by J Moss called Keep Your Head Up. I love this song and just wanted to post it on here to boost you up if you’re feeling low. God is with you so never give up on your dreams people! Enjoy! 😀

The Man Who Saved 669 Children from Death

Hello Peeps!

Sir N WintonToday, I want to post this short inspirational video clip about Sir Nicholas Winton, the British Schindler, who after saving 669 children mostly Jewish from a Nazi death camp on the eve of World War II, he was given the surprise of his lifetime on television by people he least expected.

There are many unsung heroes that have risked their lives for the sake of others and I am reminded of how Jesus Christ did the same for us. Jesus saved us from the consequence of Hell by what He did for us at calvary. That is why, God uses people who have a heart like Jesus to do amazing things just like how he used Sir Nicholas Winton, who sacrificed his safety in order to save others.

Sir Nicholas Winton is someone I believe who epitomizes this Christ-like character as he chose to save 669 children from death during the Nazi Regime at such a great risk. If God can use Sir Nicholas to do the incredible despite the risks involved, then what more say you?

This video that I’ve posted today is very sobering and makes me look at myself a lot more to acknowledge that as a Christian, I can’t say “I’ve arrived”. Nope…no way… There’s still room for improvement when it comes to developing a sacrificial heart like Jesus Christ. As Christians, may we learn from history, may we learn from God and may we learn to be more like Jesus Christ in our daily affairs so that we don’t become numb to the evils that exist in this world. May we learn to overcome evil by doing good in all that we do, Amen! I pray that this video blesses your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody! 😀

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Calling on the Blood of Jesus – Travis Greene’s Amazing Testimony

Hello Peeps!

Image result for snowing gifHope you are having a wonderful Tuesday morning 😀 . It snowed quite a bit last night and I personally don’t like snow. It’s funny, when I was a kid I looked forward to it when I lived in Germany but when I moved to China… the cold was just biting cold and I hated having to do PE (Physical Education a.k.a Gym class) outside in the cold in my shorts. I can’t believe they made us do PE in that biting cold. I remember having pneumonia a few times during this winter season so I hate snow with a passion now. Nice to look at… nice to play in for a time… but driving in that mess is just treacherous. Having to live here with it in Canada… well it comes with the territory, so I guess I shouldn’t complain, lol 😀 .

This is where I embrace my Africaness conveniently at such times….I was born to live in the sun lol. Ok, so maybe I’m exaggerating a bit about the snow…it’s not that bad, but I honestly don’t like driving in it. Compared to when I drove through in a flood in window deep water a few years ago (you can read that crazy story by clicking here)… I think I can handle a flood more than snow… I know… I’m weird. Not that I wish for another flood… HELL NO!!! I’m just sayin’ that I wasn’t as scared driving in a flood as oppose to driving through in a snow storm… I am a weird one, I know, lol 😀 .

Image result for TestimonyAnyways, I have this inspirational video of Travis Greene (Gospel artist) preaching about why he is so passionate about God. He has a powerful testimony that I’d like to share here on this blog today to get you thinking about having that attitude of gratitude towards God when He does something miraculous in your life. When Travis was young, he had lived in Germany and had fallen 4 stories off a balcony at the age of 4! Many witnesses thought he was dead… and his mother took a hold of his body and prayed calling out the Name of Jesus twice and nothing happened. Then she called out the Blood of Jesus and miraculously, Travis revived. The grace of God is so amazing in that when people think you’re dead, God is the one that brings you back to life.

Image result for TestimonyI nearly died a couple years ago due to a sickness I had to endure (encephalitis – an inflammation of the brain that causes short-term memory loss) and had multiple seizures in the process while I was in hospital… but thanks to a praying family, I have fully recovered and got my wits about me. I am very thankful to God for having healed me and being able to have a new lease on life. I think that when I consider those that were there for me and those that disappear when things happen to you, it opens up your eyes to see who is truly genuine in your life. I don’t believe in holding onto people that won’t hold onto you… Just let them be on their way and God will align you with true destiny helpers that will want to see you succeed and be in good health as your soul prospers. Learn to be thankful to God for everything that He does for you. Nothing is too trivial for God to do and perform His wonders. We just need to invite Him to be a part of every aspect of our lives so that we can recognize when God has performed a miracle when we least expect it. Do not take God’s love for you for granted and praise Him for all that He has done for you unawares. He is a miracle-working God and I personally give Him the highest praise.  😀

My prayer for anyone reading this blog today comes from this following verse of scripture:

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

Watch this amazing testimony and may it bless your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody! 😀

I Go Crazy for You

Hello Peeps!

I’m sure the title of this post must have got you thinkin’ what is making Sherline Go Crazy huh!!!!? lol 😀 … well, let me calm you down right there and let you know that I have all my faculties together so not to worry. I’m just posting this upbeat song by GI (God’s Image) called Go Crazy. It’s not a new song but I just love it and wanted to share it here with you today. When I think of what the Lord has done for me for the past couple of years with the sickness I endured and the long journey to recovery, I think I can say that I just go crazy with Joy for what the Lord has done in my life. I feel positive about what lies ahead for me in my future. The Lord never leaves us forsaken.

Image result for dead end relationshipI’ve come to terms with those that walk out of my life and am willing to embrace those that want to be a part of my life. I have chosen not to cling onto people that won’t cling onto me and just let them go. There’s no need for dead weight that won’t take you anywhere. It’s better to be freed of dead weight and align yourself with people that honestly make an effort to be in your life and want to have something to do with you. Life isn’t about pleasing people that are around you, it’s about doing what is pleasing before God and allowing God to show you who you really should be aligned with and connected to even when it hurts as He strikes off some peeps out of your life that add no spiritual, emotional, or intellectual value to your destiny.

Related imageI think many struggle to let go of “dead-end” relationships, but at the end of the day, we must acknowledge the fact that weeds choke the potential of a plant or tree to grow, so you must uproot the weedy people out of your lives if you want to grow and thrive in the long run. This also applies to those in ministry and also to your places of employment where you find no room to grow in your careers, or where you find that there are no opportunities for advancement because certain people are either blocking you from reaching your goals, or there is no room to advance in the place that you find yourself in.

Ask yourself, how long will you stick it out? Will you wait until you get totally frustrated? Or will you allow God to shift you and reposition you into a different role, company, occupation, ministry, etc? What will it take for you to move with the seasons of change that God has in your life that is intended for you to shift from where you are to where He wants you to go and be, hmmmmmm…..?

Image result for dead end relationshipAre you willing to allow God to shift you from where you are to where He wants you to be? Ask yourself all these questions today. Don’t allow weedy people to short change your destiny. Don’t give people that much power over your life that you can’t breathe freely in the end. God didn’t sign you up to be caged with the wrong people that are thwarting your potential to succeed. You have to recognize when where you are simply isn’t good enough for you, and when God wants to take you out of that dead-end pit and into a better place that will help you thrive. The question is, do you trust God to direct your path? If you do… then move when God tells you to move, Amen!

The last song is I have here is also by GI (God’s Image) called Pray and Don’t Worry. I think that this song is awesome and it really is uplifting to any weary soul that needs a song to encourage them especially when you’re feeling at your lowest. Don’t put your trust in the wrong places. Don’t put your trust in people that are susceptible to disappointing you and are not perfect to begin with. Put your total trust in God who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all you could ask or think of, Amen! Put your trust in the right place is my main message. Learn to pray to God and make your requests known to God so that He is able to answer to your need in His perfect timing, Amen! Thank God for every victory and remember all blessings you have in your life come from God.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

Proverbs 3:5-6 [Full Chapter]

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Ephesians 3:20-21 [Full Chapter]

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

How Far Would You Go?

Hello Peeps!

Related imageToday, I wanted to do something different on my blog today. I have posted here today a funny clip of a Groom who forgot the rings on his wedding day. The clip is soo funny as you see the great lengths he would go just to make sure that he gets the rings just in time to marry his bride. In reflection of this, I was thinking about how Jesus went to great depths to sacrifice Himself for His Church who is the Bride of Christ by going through with the crucifixion, dying and then resurrecting from the dead for all of us in fulfillment of the scriptures. We as the church need to be thankful and grateful that we have such a groom in our lives who would do so much to devote His love towards us and go at such great lengths just to have a relationship with us.

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

The Outworking of Love ] By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Jesus loves us so much that going through with the crucifixion was how much He thought we were worth, and that is what I want you to think about as you watch this funny clip. The groom went to great lengths just to marry his bride…and Jesus did the same for us except that His sacrifice was much greater in that He sacrificed His own life so that we would live a life more abundantly. May we not take our Lord’s love for His church for granted and give God the greatest praise everyday as we live in the light of His Word and His Love.

John 8:12 [Full Chapter]

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

I pray that this clip blesses you today. God Bless You Everybody! 😀

You In The Eyes of God

You have got to read this beautiful piece by Karina. Her mom was the inspiration for this post and it’s all about how God sees us in light of everything. There’s mans perspective and then there’s God’s perspective…we should always remember how God sees us at any point in our lives. May this post bless you today. God Bless! – Sherline 😀

Karina's Thought

At my parents’ new house in Paris, they used one room of the house as their private library. When I was helping them put the books on the shelf, I saw a small diary that written by hand writing “You in the Eyes of God” and there is my mom’s signature under the right corner on its cover. Don’t know why, I was tempted to saw the content of the diary. After I got permission from my mom to read her diary, at first I thought it was just a random thought of my mom but the more I read I became aware that the writing wasn’t just a random thought but rather to contemplation and it made my heart touched. My dear friend, this evening I love to share what my mom wrote about. Here it is…

Thinking With Your Heart

Hello Peeps!

I just had to add this awesome song for today sung in Accapella by Voices of Lee called I am a Child of God. Sometimes when we go through life, we tend to forget that our circumstances don’t define us; our situations don’t define us; nor does our skin colour; our cultural; educational; socio-economic; or racial backgrounds necessarily define who we are. It’s your belief system that defines who you are. Many of us are familiar with this phrase spoken by René Descartes who once said “I think, therefore I am”. But that phrase is actually a proverbial paraphrase of a Biblical passage found in the following scripture:

Proverbs 23:7 [Full Chapter]

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.

Image result for think with your heart

Whatever you believe to be true for yourself, will ultimately become your reality. The question is, what are you meditating on in your personal life that is manifesting as your current reality? It is so important to guard your heart and your mind because whatever you meditate in your mind, is what will affect the true heart condition of your soul. Most people assume that they “think” with their brains… but I personally think that we think with our hearts… Have you ever encountered people who do certain things that don’t make any sense to you, and seem to be doing things that cause you to believe that their actions appear to be illogical and irrational to you…? You’d think that they were not in their “right minds” simply because you don’t understand their actions or the reason(s) behind their actions… but when you are moved by what you feel led to do with your heart… you really knock out the typical logic that comes from the brain when you act out in faith based on what your heart leads you to do.

Image result for head over heels in loveThink about the concept of being “head over heels” over someone that you’ve fallen in love” with… Some people do crazy things because they are moved by their emotions and are not swayed by logic or reason for their actions. They just simply do whatever their “heart(s)” lead them to do. It may not always be rational in the eyes of others who are the outside observers… but it will feel logical to the person moved by their hearts desire. That is why I say… people often-times think with their hearts and not with their heads because wherever a man’s or woman’s heart is…the whole body is sure to follow.

Ask Yourself “Why did The Bible say we think with our Hearts instead of our Heads?”
I believe that the reason for this is because logic doesn’t necessarily compel us to move in action, it’s our feelings (our gut instincts) and convictions that compel us to move with action.

Image result for I think therefore I am

René Descartes

If someone feels compelled or prompted to do or act out on something, it maybe instinctual and not necessarily weighed out on logically assessing the pros and cons of pursuing a specific course of action through methodical and logical reasoning. More often than anything, I think as people, we are often moved by our emotions and gut instincts more so than through logic and rationale in certain circumstances.

Image result for nothing is impossible

In fact, sometimes I think that logic has a tendency of halting progress in that it causes us to over-analyze things and over assess and/or reassess the pros and cons of pursuing a specific course of action, by finding fault and/or by finding a logical reason to delay on acting on or pursuing a specific course of action on something, which may cause us to delay in reaction and action. Such people who think this way would do well in the areas of risk management in any business that likes to protect its assets; however, they would not do well, nor fare well in other areas of life that thrives on innovation, since innovators are willing to take risks in order to move forward, and are willing to try and try again until they break barriers to reach new heights and achieve new things that seemed “impossible”. Innovators are risk takers; whereas, risk management people are always about self preservation and avoiding the need for encountering any situation that requires damage control. This often restricts and inhibits potential growth to move forward when striving for change in the corporate culture. I say all this as just my own personal opinion…you can choose to agree or disagree with me, that’s fine. This is just my two cents on the subject matter of Risk and Innovation based on my personal experience and observation in the business world.

Related imageAgain I say that the Holy Spirit speaks to us through our hearts and that is how we are led to act in the first place when we feel prompted/inspired or compelled to do something that causes us to act on our convictions in the first place. That “gut instinct” that many people feel to act on something is most likely the Holy Spirit’s leading, and that is why the Lord wants us to embrace the message of Christ in our hearts so that we may become more intuitive and obedient to Godly instruction through the power of the Holy Spirit.

If we maintain that we need logical reasons in order to believe in God, to believe in miracles, or to believe in the existence of our Saviour Jesus Christ… then many people would not be moved to act on anything that the Holy Spirit inspires or leads a person to do, because logic has a way of halting progress if it simply relies on, and requires tangible, measurable and logical reasons to act out on something. Faith moves a Believer to act; whereas, logic has a way of halting a Believer from pursuing a specific course of action in faith, if it seeks to prove or disprove the existence of the supernatural as a motivating factor to act on that faith when being led by the Holy Spirit to do or act on something (an instruction) out of obedience (even when it doesn’t make any sense).

If you look at some of the miracles that were performed in The Bible, many of these happenings defy common sense and human logic. It is difficult to ascertain things that can’t easily be explained by science, logic, deductive reasoning, or human philosophy. How does one explain a Virgin giving birth? Has there ever been a record of other virgins giving birth in this world without intercourse? I highly doubt that. But if there were any…how would one explain it? That’s why I can understand why many non-believers have a problem with embracing the message of Christ if what they seek to believe in, has to conform to the laws of human logic. The problem with human logic is that it is limited and cannot explain the unexplainable, so how can we as human beings, be so overly reliant on such logic that is unable to satisfy explanations regarding those things that seem to defy human logic, science, philosophy and deductive reasoning? I just don’t see how that’s possible.

The Parting of the Red Sea Defies Human Logic

The Bible defy’s human logic because many things including the conception of Jesus Christ to a virgin girl, can’t be wrapped around a logical mind that doesn’t believe in miracles. Many non-believers who look to science or other philosophies and religions to explain mans existence will eventually come to the same conclusion, that some things can’t be easily explained away without mentioning the words: “Miracle” and “God” or “Another Power”.  So my message today is that although man may struggle to believe in God, the fact is, believing in Him starts when you allow your heart to be receptive to receive the message of Jesus Christ. What you accept into your heart as Truth, will ultimately become a part of your reality. If people keep rejecting the message of Truth, then they will continue to be bound in that realm of unbelief. Once the heart opens up to the message of The Truth, that is when The Truth sets a person’s mind free to believe that Jesus Christ is indeed REAL, Amen!

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

I pray that the song I’ve posted for today blesses your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody! 😀

Give God Praise Always

Hello People!

It’s been a while since my last post. What can I say…certain things have happened to me these past few weeks that could have discouraged me…but somehow…I’m just not discouraged. I have hope that God is turning around what was meant to be for my demise to be for my victory. I won’t say much now until I have something to testify about much later on. I feel like certain things are starting to unfold into a glorious testimony. All I can say is that I choose not to be discouraged by certain events that have happened and I feel like I’m in a place where I’m just choosing to trust God’s report over my circumstances. This is why I’m posting this inspirational song by Gregory Brunot called Hallelujah.

Image result for praise gifsHallelujah is the word we use to give the Highest Praise unto God. Let Praise forever be in our mouths! No matter what issues you face, remember where your help comes from; it comes from the Lord. Don’t be moved by simple emotions and by the things you see. Remember to trust God over your circumstances and you will see His divine turn around for your life. I choose to trust God. May this song bless and encourage those that feel weary. God will come through for you so keep trusting in Him no matter what. Whose Report will you believe? I will believe in the report of the Lord, Amen. God Bless You Everybody! 😀

In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever.

Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will praise you forever; from generation to generation we will proclaim your praise.

I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.

Praise be to the Lord forever! Amen and Amen.

DESTINY HAS NO COMPETITION

I just had to post this short but very sobering post found on The Mahdeebah Blog about our attitudes when we find ourselves competing with each other. We must learn to focus on our personal goals rather than be distracted by those that appear to be far ahead of us in life. Stay in your lane and focus on where you ought to go rather than get misdirected by focusing on someone else’s path that leads to a different direction. Many people find themselves lost trying to imitate and achieve what others have by competing with them rather than choosing to be grateful for what they do have and work with what they’ve got in order to achieve their desired results. Stick to your lane.

The Mahdheebah Blog (TMB)

I was jogging this morning and I noticed a person about 1/2 a kilometer ahead.I could tell he was running a little slower than me and I thought, good, I shall try to catch him.I had about a kilometer before I needed to turn off. So I started running faster and faster.Every block, I was gaining on him just a little bit. After just a few minutes I was only about 100 meters behind him, so I really picked up the pace and pushed myself. You would have thought I was running in the last leg of an Olympic competition. I was determined to catch him. Finally, I did it! I caught and passed him. On the inside, I felt so good. “I beat him” Of course, he didn’t even know we were racing, as Dr Ben narrated.

After I passed him, I realized I had been…
