An Earthly Success or a Heavenly Failure?

Hello Peeps!

Today, I was watching a live facebook video by Dr. Sharon Nesbitt. You can check it out by clicking here. The one thing she said that really got me was about being an:

“Earthly success and a Heavenly failure. Have we done what the Father wants?” – Dr. Sharon Nesbitt.

In contemplation of her statement, the following scriptures come to my mind:

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?

Lately, we are living in a world where it seems that the “appearances of Godliness” seem to matter more so than the “actual practice of Godliness” which should be what really matters for any Christian. I think that as Christians, we should aim to live our lives as if we are living it unto the Lord so that we can give an account of our actions once we die and have passed on.

Does our faith match our actions, or are we all “lip-service” and hypocritical in our conduct?

I’m not saying that as Christians, we will always be perfect in our conduct because obviously we have weakness that we need to deal with; however, having said that though, what I am saying is that we should be aiming to live a godly life consciously and strive not necessarily for perfection, but aim to be gracious in our conduct to others as God has given us grace towards our lives. We are imperfect beings believing in a perfect God that is able to sympathize with our weaknesses. Though we have weaknesses, we should still aim to live on the right path with Jesus as our Standard of how we ought to live and love others as Christ loved us. Christ is the Standard for every Christian.

In the following scriptures from 2 Timothy 3:1-5, we are warned not to have anything to do with the following types of people as it describes:

2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NIV)

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

Having lived with my Grandparents who were diplomats for half of my life, I can testify that I’ve witnessed individuals particularly in high positions who share some, if not most of the following attributes characterized by the following traits listed in 2 Timothy 3:1-5. It is a very scary world that we live in and that is why as Christians we need to model our lives by living out what we truly believe. We cannot afford to be hypocritical in our conduct and double-minded in our ways. Aim to be the genuine article for that is what is pleasing to our God.

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you doubleminded.

Success

So, for today, focus on heavenly success and earthly success as going hand in hand. Don’t be a person that succeeds in life by earthly standards and end up being a heavenly failure when measuring your life against God’s standard of success. True success to me is living out what you believe even in the face of earthly criticism and ridicule. I’d rather live a life pleasing to God and be criticized by the judgments of men rather than succeed in life and be a heavenly failure by God’s standard. Aim to do what is pleasing in God’s eyes with a focus of eternity in mind rather than the temporal pleasures of our limited lives here on Earth. This should be food for thought in your daily walk with the Lord, Amen!

I have a song by Manic Drive called Easier. This song just sounds awesome on surround sound so I pray that this song blesses your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody! 😀

The Model Prayer – The Importance of Water Baptism

Hello Peeps!

So today, I want to talk about how we ought to pray. When I was younger, I was brought up as a “Catholic” Christian when I was living with my grandparents who were diplomats; and as a Catholic, we prayed repetitive “Hail Mary” type of prayers and we also prayed to “Saints” as it was a custom to Catholic religious practices. This is what my grandparents taught me to do when I was younger because that is what they were taught to do when they were younger.

However, when I moved to Canada at the age of 16 to live with my Mom, I discovered that this type of prayer was all wrong and it always bothered me why we needed to pray directly to “saints” acknowledged by the Catholic church who to me, were dearly departed individuals who weren’t sinless people to begin with.

How were they an intermediary to get our prayers answered if they were not sinless people themselves?

Now, I know that some Catholics will be quite up in arms with what I’m about to say, but the truth is, Biblically speaking, praying to “Saints” is not scriptural, nor is it backed up Biblically speaking. If anything, we ought to be praying directly to the Father (God) as Jesus told us to do in the Bible.

Image result for mind of christ facebook banner

Jesus confirms that we need to pray directly to the Father and tells us how we ought to pray in Matthew 6:5-15:

The Model Prayer

“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.[b] And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray:

Related imageOur Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.[c]

14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Image result for mind of christ facebook bannerI remember having this argument with my Grandfather who was brought up as a Catholic on this issue and when I pointed out this scripture to him found in Matthew 6,  he could not refute nor deny what I was stating as Biblical proof of how we ought to pray. Since then, he has started to pray differently and he has seen results through his prayers as he now has received the revelation as to how we ought to pray to God. He also has been referring to Biblical scripture in his prayers rather than relying on Catholic prayer beads (rosaries), Hail Mary’s, saint pins and pictures etc to pray. Relying on such things when praying to God is a form of IDOLATRY. There is no scriptural text to back up why any Christian should use such strange religious paraphernalia in order to pray directly to God to get their prayers heard and answered. If you have been doing this all your life and are wondering why nothing seems to be happening, it’s because such practices are a form of idol worship. You will need to do away of this practice and repent before the Father and learn to pray directly to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit from now on. So my point is, as Christians, we need to model our lives on the basis of Biblical Scripture as our FOUNDATION and not on the basis of religious dogma that cannot support some of the practices that have no scriptural basis for doing the things that they do.

John Baptizes Jesus

Even Jesus was Baptized when he was a young man if you look at the following Scriptures:

Matthew 3:13

John Baptizes Jesus ] Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.

When He had been baptizedJesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
John Baptizes Jesus ] It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

John Baptizes Jesus ] When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened.

John the Baptist Exalts Christ ] After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He remained with them and baptized.

As a former-Catholic Christian, I was baptized as a child, but when I grew up, my mom gave me Christian books on spiritual warfare when I was living in China at age 16 that forever changed my life that I literally chose God as my Saviour and went through water Baptism at the age of 17 when I moved to Canada to publicly declare my faith in God with a whole bunch of other saved believers that were around my age and some people were older than me who also gave up their lives to the Lord, Our God, Jesus Christ.

To me, water baptism as a baby is more like a “baby dedication” to the Lord. I think it’s ok to have your baby dedicated to God ceremonially as a baby; however, I also think that when a person actually chooses God as their Saviour when they grow up and have come to the full knowledge of who Christ is to them, and have accepted that they are indeed sinners in need of a Saviour, that is when a believer should truly get baptized by water and then the gifts of the Holy Spirit will ignite in them as they get baptized by the fire of the Holy Spirit once they have affirmed their faith in God and grown in the knowledge of the Truth through meditating on the Word of God (The Bible).

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

You can only receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit after you have affirmed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour through water baptism. I firmly believe that. I’m no longer a “Catholic” Christian as it were because I’m now a non-denominational Christian who believes in living life by Biblical Standards of Truth.

I attend a Bible-believing church and believe in the workings of the Holy Spirit in my life. Praying to “Saints” like the Catholics do, doesn’t increase your spirituality. This maybe hard for a Catholic Christian to gulp down and accept what I’m saying, but I’m stating all this based on Biblical Standards of Truth. You can choose to deny it, but this is what the Bible says, and Jesus Himself tells us how we ought to pray to the Father.

Nowhere in the Bible does it indicate that we should pray to dead people who have passed on…nowhere does the Bible indicate that we should look to those who some people categorize as “saints” as intermediaries to answering our prayers. In some sense, this type of activity is a subtle form of necromancy which is strictly forbidden for any Christian to be doing in the first place, so I urge you Christians of God, to Pray directly to the Father, and you will see Him do miraculous things in your life, Amen! I have posted a song by Hillsongs United called Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) as a ministering song on this topic of Water Baptism. I pray that this song ministers to your spirit today. God Bless You everybody! 😀

Move Forward, No Looking Back!

Hello Peeps!

Related imageI just had to post this awesome song today by Troy Sneed called Move Forward. I found this song to be very comforting and ministering to my spirit regarding how I feel at the moment. I believe in pressing forward and moving ahead regardless of whatever tried to pull me back. I believe in focusing on what’s ahead of me rather than being distracted by what is already behind me. Let the past pass and the future push me ahead with God on my side. The same should apply to all who are currently facing setbacks, delays, hindrances etc in your lives. Don’t be discouraged and continue to push forward towards the goal with God on your side.

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

Lately, I’ve been having a series of prophetic dreams that show me things that are yet to happen in my future that makes me feel some sense of encouragement and a sense of having something to look forward to. Sometimes, God gives us visions or dreams that have yet to be realized so that we can have some sense of purpose to be driven to continue fighting for what is rightfully ours. It also helps us to remain focused on the goal. Just because other people don’t see where you are going right now doesn’t mean that God cannot take you to your promise. God has a way of guiding our spirits to walk in a certain direction to obtain the promises He has for us if only we remain faithful and attentive and spiritually sensitive to His instructions and guidance.

Image result for Move Forward with God bannerIn my own personal experience, God usually gives me dreams, visions and/or obvious physical signs of when I’m heading in the right direction. Prayer helps me to be spiritually sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit and He always guides me in the right direction. Be clear and specific as to what you want from God in your prayer life so that you can have definitive results from your prayers. Fasting sharpens my hearing and ability to hear clearly from the voice of the Holy Spirit when I am too distracted by things going on around me. If you feel confusion or some sense of uncertainty regarding where you should be going and/or what you ought to be doing right about now in your life, learn to pray and fast so that you can allow your spirit to become sensitive enough to hear clearly from the voice of the Holy Spirit who is able to give you specific direction as to where you ought to go whether it be through signs, dreams or visions or a word of confirmation from other believer(s). Refuse to remain lost, and if necessary, seek someone who is spiritually mature, who can pray with you and guide you when you are feeling lost and confused.

Read your Bible daily and ask God to give you revelation as you read through it. Some of the answers you seek concerning your life can be found in the Bible. I find that when I read through the parables of Jesus, God always gives me insight as to how I should be as a person, how I should act and how my mind needs to renew my thinking in order to do what’s right and walk in the right direction in my life. In the same way, when you do these things, you will gain insight as to where you ought to go and what direction you need to head towards once you purpose to develop a strong spiritual sensitivity to hear directly from the Holy Spirit as you pray and meditate on God’s Word (The Bible) in your life. Seek and you shall find, Ask and it shall be given to you, pressed down, shaken together and running over.

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

I pray that these songs I’ve posted here today will bless your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody 😀 !

God Can Use Broken Things

Hello Everybody!

Today, I want to post two awesome songs by Matthew West where the first song is called Broken Things. I just found this song to be awesomeeeeeeee! I hope y’all will like it ! 😀

When I think about the types of things I’ve gone through in my life, I am amazed at how God has kept me. There were times when I felt broken inside; however, God always found a way to heal the broken pieces of me through miraculous means whether it be through people I encountered, or through miraculous healings and/or deliverance through intercessory prayer and/or fasting.

Image result for demonic oppression

Just an example: Levitation off the bed

I’ve already written in previous posts that I experienced a lot of spiritual oppression as a kid where my body would twist on its own in unusual ways and would sometimes be found to almost levitate off my bed (not completely of course), but I would be found in an arched position with only my head on the pillow and feet on the bed as the rest of me was lifted into the air as if I was being carried by some unseen force while I was in a seemingly tranced state (according to my twin sister who witnessed all this craziness). When I was young, it got so bad that there came a time where I wished for death to come quickly because it was so tormenting and painful to endure that I don’t think I could take it anymore. It must have gotten so bad to the point where I sleep-walked into the kitchen and got a knife and pointed it to my chest that I almost killed myself while I was in a trance-like state. Thank God my grandmother woke me up by shouting at me in an authoritative voice commanding me to “PUT THE KNIFE DOWN!”, since my twin ran to get her because she couldn’t seem to wake me up before that happened. It really disturbs me to think that I went through all that growing up and I didn’t know what to do about it because I lacked information (knowledge) and revelation which would have given me the power to overcome all these attacks in the first place. I do feel that the Lord allowed me to go through this so that I could become stronger and more knowledgeable about the subject of Spiritual Warfare in order to help others who may have endured or are enduring things that are beyond their comprehension or understanding.

I am glad and thankful that God always came and rescued me during the darkest times in my life and I am grateful to God for having delivered me from all those types of strange demonic oppressive experiences that I used to endure as a kid. It has taught me to fight and not give up and to not give in even when it hurts so when I reflect on my struggle with recovering my short-term memories because of being struck by a sickness that affects my memories (encephalitis); I realize that if it’s not a spiritual attack that I have to endure, I can also face a physical attack that can affect my mind, body and soul as well. Despite all that, you still do not need to give into defeat when something tries to hit you and knock you down just as soon as you get back up again.

Image result for spiritual oppression

I have learned within this short lifespan that I will always be fighting to live for the rest of my life because the Lord knows I can endure and fight to live until He calls me home (Heaven). So I’ve decided to maintain a fighting spirit. I have faced discouragement, sleepless nights, the feeling of being defeated; however, God still calls us to fight and endure. We need to have a fighting spirit if we want to be successful in spiritual warfare and life in general. You have to guard your mind above all else because what you believe in is what you’ll ultimately become.

So for today, train your mind, spirit and body to first meditate on God’s Word (the Bible) and train up your mind, body and spirit for spiritual warfare. People experience spiritual warfare everyday whether they’re aware of it or not, so it is important to grow strong and read up on it so that you can be successful and develop a fighting spirit that won’t put up with nonsense and discouragement from others who try to raise limits in your life. Remember God who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all you could ever ask, think or imagine. God is able to help you to endure and press through for your breakthroughs when you place your 100% trust in Him. Keep your faith alive and seek God with all of your heart, Amen! 😀

Ephesians 3:20-21 [Full Chapter]

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

The Last song I want to post for today is also by Matthew West called Mended. I like this song because it’s pretty much on the same theme of my post. I hope it blesses your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody! 😀

When We Pray – Parent Me

Hello People!

I want to post this song by Tauren Wells called When We Pray. I believe that with all that’s going on currently in our world, we as Christians need to pray even more and more for our families and our nations. In the wake of all the strange disasters that seem to be occurring, I think as people of faith we need to recognize when the Earth is groaning to see the “Sons of God arise” – the Christians who operate in the realm of pure faith with actions.

Image result for when we pray

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.

If you see people in need, don’t be a silent observer if you have the ability to extend your hands to help other people. We cannot be spectators to people’s trials when God calls us to be able to comfort those that need to be comforted and to help those when we have the ability to do so. What you give is what you get in return. I firmly believe that. If you sow in righteousness, you will reap a harvest of righteousness in your life.

The last song I want to post for today is called Parent Me by Json feat. J.R. I dedicate this song to the children seeking love from their parents who may sometimes be absent in their lives for various reasons. Sometimes, it’s hard for those that are single-parents to manage being a parent and a breadwinner at the same time since it’s a catch-twenty-two because you’re trying the very best you can to be there for your child and yet you need to work to provide for them. Children may not always understand the sacrifices you make to provide for them because in their eyes, all they seek is your undivided attention and love. Despite the challenges of rearing your children, try your hardest to be involved in their lives because once they grow up, all you have done for them at that point will shape their character(s). Children repeat what you teach them by the things they have observed you do, so remember to spend as much quality time to nurture their spirits and minds to operate with a Christ-like attitude towards any challenges that they may face in this life. I pray that these songs bless your spirit today. God bless you everybody! 😀

Chasing Nothing But You

Hello Peeps!

I just had to post this awesome song by Tauren Wells called Nothing But You (Feat. Davies). The song sounds amazing on surround sound and I pray that it ministers to your spirit today 😀 .

I think that we need to chase after God in the same way that He chases after us since He did send His only begotten Son to die for us so that we could have everlasting life. That’s a love that’s hard to come by; however, Jesus is the One who loves each and everyone of us in this way. Hopefully, we make it a mission to love people in this way. A love that pursues others without the fear of rejection, abandonment or denial. A love that chooses to love anyway simply because such a love has no strings attached. It is that Agape Love that will love you to the end. That’s the type of love we should strive to live for and learn to give to others who are around us.

John 3:16 [Full Chapter]

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

It isn’t easy to love everybody (trust me I know!); however, when we strive to be like Jesus Christ as our standard, then we can achieve to demonstrate Agape love at His level. It seems to be a very difficult standard to reach but having said that though, it is not impossible for us to demonstrate it at that level because with God on our side, all things become possible. Can you imagine someone chasing after you in this way? God is worth pursuing since He already pursued us through His Son Jesus Christ. I pray that this song blesses your spirit today as it has ministered to mine. God Bless You Everybody! 😀

Be Undefeated – Double for Your Trouble

Hello Peeps!

Today, I want to post this cool upbeat song to encourage you by Tauren Wells feat. KB called Undefeated. You know, in life you will face obstacles, rejection, failures, set-backs, barriers, blockages, discouragement and the list goes on and on with respect to the types of things that try to prevent you from moving forward. Despite all these things that we will all face at some point in our lives, it is your view of failure that will determine how far you’ll either give in to defeat, or press forward towards the goal without looking back at what tried to set you back.

In reflection of this, my favorite scripture comes from:

I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Sometimes, God gives us second chances to face our obstacles again so that we learn not to give in to defeat. We have the choice to mull around in self-pity, or we can choose to face the hurdles again and try to push forward and try again until we make it to the next jump.

When you pursue something without fear, you will be able to see and experience opportunities that you never thought would be open to you before. You want a promotion? Then be strategic and pursue it. You want to travel to a place you’ve never been to before? Then plan to go there. You want to connect to certain people you thought you’d never have access to? Then seek them out.

Matthew 7:7 [Full Chapter]

Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking ] “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Nothing comes to you by some “Fluke”... You have to put your faith into ACTIONotherwise, it is not faith at all. It’s one thing to pray for the things you wish to see in your life, but if you aren’t willingly or purposefully attempting to put your faith into ACTION, then you are just praying in vain. God has a way of directing your footsteps in the right direction. Sometimes, God makes things easy for us by simply opening the “Door of Opportunity” for you to go step out and do something. However, if you cannot recognize when God opens such a door in your life, you will continue to miss out on every amazing opportunity that comes before you, had you decided to step out in a leap of faith.

Do not allow FEAR or REJECTION to stop you from pursuing the promises of God in your life.

I know that for myself who has been battling a sickness for the past year, I faced many instances where I felt discouraged and almost landed in a place filled with self-pity…thinking “woe is me…why is this happening to me…why ME! why ME!!!!!????????”…. but at the end of the day, God has shown me that He has been with me throughout this entire trial. It maybe difficult to see how God is there for you when you are feeling alone and isolated in your ordeals, but God is indeed there with you every step of the way whether you believe that He is there for you or not.

JOb

When I think of the types of things I’ve been through, I think of people like Job in the Bible who experienced many attacks.

  • In Job Chapter 1 – Satan attacks Job’s character and he loses his property and his children.
  • In Job Chapter 2 – Satan attacks Job’s health; and his three friends – Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite all wept at Job’s calamities and adversities.
  • In Job Chapter 3 – Job deplores his birth and basically wishes that he was never born.
  • In Job Chapter 4 – Eliphaz assumes that Job has sinned in some way and that is why he is going through hell at the moment which, in fact, was not the case. Presumptions are dangerous!
  • In Job Chapter 5 – Eliphaz continues to believe that Job is being chastened by God.
  • In Job Chapter 6 – Job complains to the Lord and his complaints are just with respect to the trials he is going through.
  • In Job Chapter 7 – Job cries out to the Lord stating that his suffering is comfort-less.
  • In Job Chapter 8 – Bildad, one of Job’s friends, assumes that Job should repent to God somehow because how else is he going through this hell if he hasn’t done something wrong to anger the Most High, right? Again, Presumptions are dangerous!
  • In Job Chapter 9 – Job feels like there is no mediator to his cause. I think at this point he is feeling utterly discouraged and hopeless. Who wouldn’t be like this in this situation?

Image result for job in the bible

  • In Job Chapter 10 – Job pleads with God to stop the oppression that he’s experiencing in his life. In a way he’s asking God to simply just punish him, or to end this cycle of trials upon trials and tribulations.
  • In Job Chapter 11 – Zophar, his third friend, urges Job to repent because in his mind, he believes that Job’s suffering is due to some unrepented sin(s). Zophar is also presumptuous, but at the same time, all his three friends come to the same conclusion because they cannot fathom as to why Job is going through such trials if it isn’t due to some hidden sin(s) committed on his part. Is Job really Blameless?
  • In Job Chapter 12 – Job answers to his critics by pointing out how their accusations are unfounded because they have not considered the possibility that Job is in fact blameless for the things he’s going through (look at Job 12:4).
  • In Job Chapter 13 and Job Chapter 14 – Job gives his despondent prayer to God.
  • In Job Chapter 15 – Job’s friend Eliphaz accuses Job of Folly. Clearly, his friends don’t believe that Job is in fact blameless for the trials that he is facing.
  • In Job Chapter 16  Job reproaches his pitiless friends. Honestly, with friends like the ones Job had, who needs enemies? He clearly had frenemies (friends that act like enemies) if you ask me.

    Related image

  • In Job Chapter 17  Job prays to God for relief. The fact that he still kept his faith in God despite the trials and tribulations he kept experiencing is just amazing to me. How many of us can keep it together like Job? Food for thought people!
  • In Job Chapter 18 – Bildad, one of Job’s friends, declares that the wicked shall be punished.
  • In Job Chapter 19 – Job trusts in the Lord God as his Redeemer from the trials that he is facing. How many of us can trust God to this extent, huh? I’m just sayin’.
  • In Job Chapter 20 – Zophar the Naamathite gives a sermon on “the wicked man”.
  • In Job Chapter 21 – Job gives his discourse regarding “the wicked”.
  • In Job Chapter 22 – Eliphaz the Temanite accuses Job of wickedness. With friends like that, who needs enemies? I’m just sayin’ yet again.
  • In Job Chapter 23 – Job proclaims God’s righteous judgments.

Just because we don’t understand how God works, doesn’t mean that we ought to be presumptuous about the reasons why some people go through tough trials. Sometimes it isn’t because of some “hidden” sin that people endure tests, trials or tribulations. Sometimes, God allows us to go through such trials so that we can become more refined, more humble and gracious to others when such things start to happen in their lives. It also causes us to fear the Lord even more and helps us to realize that even when others mock you, God will never forsake you in the trial(s) that you endure to the end. God is always with you no matter what.

  • In Job Chapter 24 – Job complains about the violence in the Earth. Even though he is going through such tough times, it’s amazing that he’s so consciously aware of the evil that is afflicting others during this time. This just goes to show you that he isn’t such a self-absorbed man with a “woe is me” attitude. He has the ability to experience and express compassion on behalf of others.
  • In Job Chapter 25 – Job’s friend Bildad the Shuhite asks “how can man be righteous?”. That indeed is a very good question.
  • In Job Chapter 26  Job answers his friend by explaining Man’s frailty and God’s Majesty.

Image result for double for your troubleIn Job 42:7-8, the Lord was ticked off with Eliphaz and Job’s other two friends for their unfounded accusations that they had placed against Job with respect to the calamities Job was facing. They were presumptuous about why Job was facing such tribulations and made fun of his situation by accusing him of having done something wrong to warrant all these calamities to befall him. It didn’t occur to Job’s friends at all that sometimes “Bad things happen to good people”. It never occurred to them that sometimes, you don’t necessarily have to sin in order to go through a series of trials or tribulations. Sometimes we face such things to test our character and refine our spirits to remain God-reliant not matter what the circumstances may be.

Job 42:7-11– And so it was, after the Lord had spoken these words to Job, that the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has. Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you. For I will accept him, lest I deal with you according to your folly; because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.

So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the Lord commanded them; for the Lord had accepted Job. 10 And the Lord restored Job’s losses[a] when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. 11 Then all his brothers, all his sisters, and all those who had been his acquaintances before, came to him and ate food with him in his house; and they consoled him and comforted him for all the adversity that the Lord had brought upon him. Each one gave him a piece of silver and each a ring of gold.

In this case, Job remained steadfast and believed God despite all of the stuff that he went through. His friends were not very helpful during this time and were quite ignorant about what was really going on with Job which should be an indication to us that sometimes when things go south in your life, your closest friends may not always be there for you in your time of need and may discourage you on the basis of their presumptions regarding what’s going on in your life.

Just remember this one thing no matter what: Presumptions are not FACTS.

In my opinion, Job’s friends lacked any sort of spiritual insight and discernment as to what was really going on with Job. Sometimes, your friends may even be the source of discouragement in your life when you’re going through ups and downs. In such situations, you have to maintain your focus on God at all times. God is the only One that is able to deliver you from these trial(s) so ignore the naysayers in your life who could be your close friends or family members. Keep your faith in God no matter what the circumstances you face in life, because if God can see you through it, then He can take you through it. Do not be discouraged nor dismayed. Keep trusting God no matter what.

Hebrews 12:1-3 (NKJV)

The Race of Faith

12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The Discipline of God

For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

Job was rewarded for remaining steadfast in the Lord as the Lord restored his losses and gave him “double for his trouble”. It is indeed Spiritual Warfare to keep your mind intact while experiencing oppression from all sides be it through the negative confession of others concerning the trials that you are facing, be it physical sickness, mental and emotional attacks that make you feel like as if you are losing your mind, including spiritual attacks that make your soul feel weary.

If you are going through such crazy times in your life, seek God all the more and ask God to give you double for your trouble just like Job had received even without asking. The main point is, that Job received double without even asking for it as a reward for his unshakable faith. We should pursue to have this type of Faith in our lives if we want God to bless us indeed. So for today, focus on increasing your trust and faith in God so that when you do face trials and tribulations, you will bless the Lord with your mouth rather than curse, and you will ignore people that want to add their “2 cents” as to why you are facing such issues in your life on the basis of their false accusations. Learn to ignore the negative reports of others and fix your eyes on Jesus who is the Author and Finisher of your faith, Amen! I pray that this song by Tauren Wells feat. The Speck or the Log In Your Eye

Hello People!

Today, I want to talk about the harsh judgment of Christians towards the actions of other believers with non-believers with respect to Tasha Cobbs collaboration with Nicki Minaj in the song I posted the other day in a previous post. In the Bible, this verse of scripture comes to mind from the heart of Jesus:

Matthew 7:3-5 [Full Chapter]

And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

I personally don’t understand why Christians feel like they have the right to judge another person’s actions as if they are mixing light with darkness. I think that the song collaboration with Tasha Cobbs and Nicki Minaj was tasteful to say the least and yet people are up in arms thinking that it shouldn’t have happened. I think this is why many non-believers are put off by Christians who act with a self-righteous, haughty, holier-than-thou attitude and find that their actions are rather hypocritical of their belief-system.

Non-believers can tell who is fake and genuine by our actions.

Image result for speck or log in your eyeI think that when we encounter such criticisms from certain “Christian circles”, you have to be aware that you are coming up against the Spirit of RELIGION. The Spirit of Religion is a type of spirit is equivalent to the Spirit of PRIDE. It is a self-righteous, haughty spirit that lacks any elements of real compassion. It doesn’t know how to empathize with others because it is a master of criticism and cannot work together as a team. Such a spirit has a tendency of halting progress in new or major undertakings and special projects because it seeks to control the actions of others and nit-picks at insignificant things by blowing up such things way out of proportion.

It is an annoying spirit that causes delays towards other people’s progress because it seeks to control the actions of others with an iron fist/rod and cannot work with others in a team-setting. I say this all based on experience and can tell you that when you understand what it is that you are up against, you will be effective in terms of your prayer life and with your engagement of spiritual warfare when you are able to identify the key spirit that is halting further progression in your life.

Do not underestimate the Spirit of Pride and Religion.

Pointing the finger again doesn’t make you any more righteous

Just viewing the negative feedback and comments on Tasha Cobbs and Nicki Minaj’s collaboration is indicative of how the reactions of certain types of “Christians” operating with such a spirit would react. There is no sense of compassion or understanding or love with some of the statements made against the collaboration that it makes you wonder, “don’t some people have better things to do than to nit-pick on such insignificant things?”. Can’t they even see the good behind all that was done? Why focus on a person’s imperfect lifestyle if you can’t see that maybe just maybe you yourself might not necessarily be in right-standing by God’s standard on the basis of your harsh judgment of others? Who are we to say that God can’t use Tasha Cobbs and Nicki Minaj to glorify Him?

I think that as Christians, we need to be very careful about who we point fingers at so that when we come before God, there isn’t one pointing right back at you. Let us exercise this wonderful ability called grace and be compassionate to one another rather than placing wrongful judgments against people that are different from ourselves. We always need to ask ourselves in any situation: “What Would Jesus Do?”. I believe that God can use and will use anyone and anything for His Glory to be fulfilled. We as people and as “Christians” should understand that we are simply not qualified to judge whoever or whatever God wants to use for His Glory and purpose here on Earth. A person who is humble would understand this as a fact so let us be prudent and exercise grace and compassion the way God intended it. Let us rejoice when He uses the least likely of people to give Him glory. We should rather be rejoicing rather than criticizing, so my main point here today is that we need to be open-minded with whatever God chooses to do in order to advance His cause here on this Earth, Amen! 😀

As Christians we should purpose to exercise Compassion, Humility and Love in your Actions, for that is what is pleasing to God in His eyes.

The Value of Having Self-Control

Hello People!

Today, I want to talk about this valuable Christian trait we should all exhibit in our walk called “Self-Control”. I think that as Christians, we need to exhibit this trait more and more as the world we are living in is getting darker and darker and evil seems to be prevailing. It’s easy to be reactionary and emotional to everything that seems to be rocking our world, but as Christians, we need to be of sound mind and work on strengthening our ability to have self-control.

If you look at the following scripture in the book of Titus, it makes mention that a Bishop/Overseer/Steward and/or Leader should be the following:

Titus 1:7-9 (NKJV)

For a bishop[a] must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlledholding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.

Image result for self control facebook bannerNow the thing is, if you look at yourself in the mirror, ask yourself these questions:

Does the way in which you conduct yourself and the way in which you live cause people to be convicted about their way-ward lifestyle?

Does the way you treat people draw people to want to be more Christ-like in their actions on the basis of how you conduct yourself?

It’s one thing to evangelize about your belief in God to others, but if our actions don’t match our belief system, then we are but a clanging cymbal with no sense of harmony in our lives who cannot draw people to a closer relationship with God.

The Greatest Gift ] Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

It should be obvious on the surface of things concerning where you stand as a Christian. If a person looks at you and can’t figure out where you stand in terms of your faith, then I think that speaks volumes as to how we portray ourselves. Our conduct must match our belief-system. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll be perfect at it at all times; however, we must strive to be like Jesus in our actions as we walk and grow from faith to faith. The more we learn about Jesus, the more we can become just like Him through our actions. We have to grow in our faith in order to act on what we believe.

1 Corinthians 2:16 [Full Chapter]

For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

There will be people in your life that will test your patience, ridicule you, offend you, persecute you, lie to you, hurt you physically, sexually or emotionally, and do things to throw you off-course in terms of your faith in God. However, you can overcome all these schemes by understanding that you don’t overcome such things with might and power, you overcome such schemes by having the mind of Christ as you build on developing wisdom and self-control.

John 16:33 [Full Chapter]

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the worldour faith.

Image result for mind of christI have been through a lot in my life and have seen that had I not found God at the time that I did, I’d probably be dead right about now. The Grace of God is so amazing in that He has kept my sanity intact. I’ve seen things, been through some tough things that not many people should have to experience at such a young age whether it be health related issues, spiritual attacks or even physical attacks from people. I have witnessed the deeds of evil men and women that make me feel some level of trauma/PTSD in that the Lord shows me things I do not always wish to see in people’s eyes. There are times when God opens up my spiritual eyes to see into people’s souls and when I see the evil that lurks there, it just makes my skin crawl and shudder. I think the worst I’ve ever had it was when I lived in Kenya with my grandparents who were diplomats; I’d never seen so much evil in my life that I was happy to leave that country and head out to China. I’d experienced so much spiritual warfare and spiritual attacks while living there that I thought at some point I would die there. I praise God everyday for His saving grace.

It’s not easy to develop self-control, but I can tell you that having self-control enables you to endure difficult trials and helps you develop a high level of wisdom when confronted with unmeasurable evil. It also enables you to protect yourself and protect your family when you apply wisdom through your actions. My Grandpa taught me to be careful concerning how you treat your enemies, because you never know when they might do something to harm you the next day. How true his warning was, because I’ve seen other families who worked for the government be destroyed by the way they either mistreated others or be destroyed because they lacked discernment with respect to who they entertained as “friends” versus “foes”.

Image result for mind of christThat’s the type of life I lived in since I grew up with my grandparents who were diplomats. It has been a humbling life and I guess God allowed me to live this life to grow stronger and mature with respect to how to treat people with the mind of Christ. This is why I emphasize on building upon spiritual discernment as a Christian, because the days we are living in are quite evil. We cannot afford to be suckling on the milk of the Word (The Bible) when we need to be chewing on the very meat of God’s Word (The Bible). We need to personally pursue to grow from strength to strength and from wisdom to wisdom so that God can help us to bring others into the full knowledge of who Christ is to us and how we can be redeemed.

So my prayer for anyone reading this blog today, is to continue on with your pursuit of righteousness, pursue Godliness as a way of life and pursue to grow in spiritual discernment so that you are able to confront whatever issues of life gets thrown your way and be successful in terms of spiritual warfare. You need to know how to confront your battles wisely and learn to act justly so that you can draw people towards the path that leads to Jesus Christ, Amen!

Pursue the Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Hello Everybody!

Image result for gifts of the holy spiritToday, I want to post this wonderful song called Holy Spirit by Tina Campbell known to be one of the sisters that sing as a duet in Mary Mary. The Holy Spirit is considered as the “Third Person” of God since we have:  (1) “God the Father”; (2) “God the Son”; and then (3) “God the Holy Spirit”. The Holy Spirit is described by Jesus as “The Helper” in John 14:26 and is also referred to as “the Spirit of truth” in John 15:26.

But the Helperthe Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

The Coming Rejection ] “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.

Image result for gifts of the holy spirit

The Holy Spirit comes upon us when we become baptized by water. Water Baptism allows us to acknowledge, confirm and affirm our Faith in Jesus as we wash away our past selves and renew our minds with a new found faith in Christ as our Saviour. No longer do we walk with the old and worldly mind-set because now we have found a new life and a new mindset that is purpose-driven to walk in the light of God’s Word which is found in The BIBLE.

Image result for gifts of the holy spirit

The Baptism of Fire comes upon us when the Holy Spirit starts to ignite the gifts of the Holy Spirit in our lives whether it be by speaking in tongues, prophesying, evangelism, gifts of healing, the ability to deliver people from demonic oppression (deliverance ministry), interpretation of tongues, seeing visions and dreams and being able to interpret these dreams and visions, and the list goes on. I believe that as believers, we ought to be functioning in any one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. If we aren’t operating in any of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as a manifestation of our faith, then I think that as people we need to consider that something isn’t lining up in our lives if none of these gifts provided by the Holy Spirit is functioning whatsoever in our lives. I don’t believe as Christians, that we ought to be passive about the workings of the Holy Spirit. If anything, as believers we should be manifesting the fruits of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives.

The most important factor for any Christian wanting to be able to function with the gifts of the Holy Spirit is this important requirement of REPENTANCE. Without repentance in a Christian’s life, you will not be able to function in any of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Yes, you do need to be water baptized to affirm your faith in God; however, what good is baptism when you also need to be genuinely repentant in order to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Even Peter the apostle doesn’t downplay the requirement and need for REPENTANCE in order to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit if you look at the following scripture:

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Hostage Mailer-Front

So for today, the message I am stressing in this post today is that us Christians need to be repentant in order to function in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Without repentance, I highly doubt that a person could function with the gifts of the Holy Spirit at its full potential if we allow sin to keep us in bondage. The Holy Spirit can flow in a Christian’s life when a Christian makes it a point to operate in the realm of seeking to live a holy and godly life, a life filled with sanctification, a life seeking to operate with the mind of Christ Jesus, a life that is in pursuit of virtue and a life that seeks to be like Jesus in every way through conduct, deeds and actions. I believe that this is what we ought to do; pursue righteousness and Godliness as a way of life so that the Lord can use us to do miraculous things. If we don’t pursue such virtues, then don’t we fall short of the Glory of God? Let us pursue God like King David did in the Bible and run after God’s heart so that we can become more and more like Him in all that we say and do, Amen! Meditate on this today and I pray that this song by Tina Campbell blesses your spirit today. God bless You Everybody 😀 !
