I wanted to post this inspirational video of Vera Jones who is a collegiate Hall-of-Fame athlete, learning a lesson from her blind son about the vision needed to overcome life’s hardships.
Sometimes we face things that can shake the vision we have for our lives. I know that when I got sick last year with encephalitis (a sickness that causes short-term memory loss), I couldn’t see where in the world I was going. Nah….. it’s more like I couldn’t remember where I was going. Going through rehab therapy was quite a difficult process for me to go through and I was quite upset that I had to do it in the beginning because I had to work twice as hard to regain who I was. I had physiotherapy every week which I think was the best thing I could have ever done even though I’m not a fan of intense exercise but it sure helped; and I had occupational therapy which helped me see my areas of strength and weaknesses. No one ever wants to be sick or setback because of it… but I had to endure this in order to develop a fighting spirit in me. This isn’t the first time I’ve endured sickness either. I used to be sick growing up as a kid back in the day because I also battled a lot of spiritual oppression aimed to kill me so I know that I can’t give up so easily when it comes to certain things that want to pull me down in life. I’m just not the “giving up type of person”. Learning to overcome is part of my DNA and it is also part of your DNA if you are a child of God (a Christian). And considering the fact that I was prophesied to have a great destiny in December of last year by a prophetess and through confirmation by dreams and visions I have had and some of my relatives have had, I can’t allow myself to settle for defeat. I’m just not that type of person so neither should you give up on yourself either.
When a puzzle piece of your mind is missing, you will feel incomplete. It made me realize how strong our memories are tied to our identity. When your memories are affected, your identity is also affected. So it’s important to remember who you are in Christ. Christ is part of our identity so we need to remember that because Jesus came and overcame whatever the world had to offer up against Him, we too can overcome whatever the world throws at us.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
So my encouragement to you today is to remember that nothing can stop you from achieving God’s vision for your life. Not even physical blindness can stop you from achieving God’s vision for your life. You just have to simply believe that you can overcome and you will. I pray that this video blesses your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody! 😀
