Today, I want to talk about the harsh judgment of Christians towards the actions of other believers with non-believers with respect to Tasha Cobbs collaboration with Nicki Minaj in the song I posted the other day in a previous post. In the Bible, this verse of scripture comes to mind from the heart of Jesus:
3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
I personally don’t understand why Christians feel like they have the right to judge another person’s actions as if they are mixing light with darkness. I think that the song collaboration with Tasha Cobbs and Nicki Minaj was tasteful to say the least and yet people are up in arms thinking that it shouldn’t have happened. I think this is why many non-believers are put off by Christians who act with a self-righteous, haughty, holier-than-thou attitude and find that their actions are rather hypocritical of their belief-system.
Non-believers can tell who is fake and genuine by our actions.
I think that when we encounter such criticisms from certain “Christian circles”, you have to be aware that you are coming up against the Spirit of RELIGION. The Spirit of Religion is a type of spirit is equivalent to the Spirit of PRIDE. It is a self-righteous, haughty spirit that lacks any elements of real compassion. It doesn’t know how to empathize with others because it is a master of criticism and cannot work together as a team. Such a spirit has a tendency of halting progress in new or major undertakings and special projects because it seeks to control the actions of others and nit-picks at insignificant things by blowing up such things way out of proportion.
It is an annoying spirit that causes delays towards other people’s progress because it seeks to control the actions of others with an iron fist/rod and cannot work with others in a team-setting. I say this all based on experience and can tell you that when you understand what it is that you are up against, you will be effective in terms of your prayer life and with your engagement of spiritual warfare when you are able to identify the key spirit that is halting further progression in your life.
Do not underestimate the Spirit of Pride and Religion.
Just viewing the negative feedback and comments on Tasha Cobbs and Nicki Minaj’s collaboration is indicative of how the reactions of certain types of “Christians” operating with such a spirit would react. There is no sense of compassion or understanding or love with some of the statements made against the collaboration that it makes you wonder, “don’t some people have better things to do than to nit-pick on such insignificant things?”. Can’t they even see the good behind all that was done? Why focus on a person’s imperfect lifestyle if you can’t see that maybe just maybe you yourself might not necessarily be in right-standing by God’s standard on the basis of your harsh judgment of others? Who are we to say that God can’t use Tasha Cobbs and Nicki Minaj to glorify Him?
I think that as Christians, we need to be very careful about who we point fingers at so that when we come before God, there isn’t one pointing right back at you. Let us exercise this wonderful ability called grace and be compassionate to one another rather than placing wrongful judgments against people that are different from ourselves. We always need to ask ourselves in any situation: “What Would Jesus Do?”. I believe that God can use and will use anyone and anything for His Glory to be fulfilled. We as people and as “Christians” should understand that we are simply not qualified to judge whoever or whatever God wants to use for His Glory and purpose here on Earth. A person who is humble would understand this as a fact so let us be prudent and exercise grace and compassion the way God intended it. Let us rejoice when He uses the least likely of people to give Him glory. We should rather be rejoicing rather than criticizing, so my main point here today is that we need to be open-minded with whatever God chooses to do in order to advance His cause here on this Earth, Amen! 😀
I want post a song by The Afters called Eyes of a Believer. I pray that this song blesses your spirit today.
