I just had to post this song by Lecrae feat. Johnta Austin called Lord Be With Me. The beat is so off the hook! Honestly, when I think of what I’ve been through for the past year being in hospital, getting out of hospital, going to rehab, getting out of rehab, and still walking through the process of recovery from the sickness I endured (encephalitis – a terrible sickness that is an inflammation of the brain that causes short-term memory loss), I can truly say, that the Lord did walk with me through the darkest valley of the shadow of death.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
It’s a miracle that I’m still alive lol! 😀 I’ve heard that some people take years to recover from what I’ve been through, but for me, my recovery has only been a short few months to almost a full year which has astounded some of my medical doctors that I’ve visited. I remember being asked so many questions when I was at the rehab hospital by student doctors because I was an anomaly of a patient, and my recovery speed was quite unusual to say the least for my age group, but all I can say is that it’s because of GOD. God is my healer. He is the One that healed me as far as I’m concerned. Some trust in chariots, some in horses, but I will remember the name of the Lord and so should you when you go through a crisis or a series of crises.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
The road to my recovery, although astounding to the doctors I visit from time-to-time for my follow-ups; it has not been easy, but with God on your side, all things become possible.
I do not know what crisis you may be facing today, but just remember, that you have God on your side at all times. No matter how bleak your situation may seem, no matter how discouraged you may feel, even if you feel hopeless at times, just know that God is on your side. I admit that when I was going through rehab, I was quite frustrated and irritated at times because losing some of your memories feels like losing a big piece of yourself, and everyone around you is hoping you’ll recover those pieces through hard work and training. It was never easy, but to God be the Glory, I’m still alive and well, and still persevering through this “storm of life” to regain that which I lost. It’s a great thing that I didn’t lose my long-term memories because that would have been devastating to say the least. Sometimes, when you think you are in the worst-case scenario, you begin to see that you really aren’t and then you begin to appreciate that which you do have. So when you’re going through something terrible, remember the things that you do have around you and learn to appreciate it with respect and value. You don’t know what you’ve got ’till it’s gone.
Time is a gift and knowing that I could have died a few months ago, makes me appreciate each an everyday that God gives me to see another day. We can’t take life for granted. We can’t take people for granted and you can’t take the time that you have here on Earth for granted. Time waits for no man, but you can utilize the time that you do have now and make the best out of it. Stop putting off saying important things to people you care about and take advantage of the time you have now to say what you want to say. Tomorrow is definitely not promised because tomorrow is a gift from God.
To finish off this post, I have two songs to bless your spirit today. They are both by Lecrae so I pray that these songs bless your spirit today!
The next song is also by Lecrae feat. Tori Kelly called I’ll Find You. I think this song is also off the hook. I pray that these songs bless your spirit today. God bless you everybody! 😀
