Enlargement Requires Endurance for Increase

Hello Everybody,

I spoke on this topic tonight at church and pray that this message blesses you. Never give up on your dreams. Endurance requires you to not quit. It’s funny and ironic for me to say this considering that I’ve just gone back to school to upgrade myself since I want to aim for project management and business later on in my life and was discouraged that at the first day of classes, I failed a quiz that had a lot of mathematical computational analysis involved and got a grade of F. I remember texting my friend and prayer partner how I had wanted to throw in the towel immediately, but she and God dealt with me and told me to ask for help. It’s funny now when I think about it, because even though I am a minister, it doesn’t mean we  don’t face challenges. What’s important is how we respond to them. I’m admitting to my failures here to encourage someone to not give up even when things seem bleak. You may have your throw in the towel moment like I did…honestly, it was just too pre-mature for me to do that but I ended up picking up that towel and going back to the drawing board. Failure is a part of life, but you don’t necessarily have to remain there. If you do, you’ve not only chosen failure as a way of life, but you have chosen to remain defeated. That is not how  you fight the good fight of Faith. You must persevere, and so I’m persevering with much fear and trembling knowing I have to remain accountable for my actions or my inaction so to speak. I am not perfect, but through God, I am being perfected, Amen!

I asked for help from my professor because I was so sure I understood what was going on in class that I couldn’t understand why I had failed not just once but twice! And he showed me that it was because I missed the real answer by one digit which changed the result of my answer. I retook the test again and turned that F into an A+. Had I decided to remain in that state of defeat and giving up, nothing would have changed for me and that’s why God rebuked me and said “Seek wisdom for the areas you are lacking”. I did that and changed the result of my circumstance. So what I’m trying to say to you is that you don’t have to remain defeated. You can overcome. It’s painful to fail, but what is worse is remaining there. You can overcome if you just try. You have to endure tests, you have to endure trials. You can’t grow if your not willing to go through the tough times. Be encouraged and keep moving forward towards the goal. Don’t focus on the mistake, focus on the one who gives you the answers that you seek to overcome that hurdle. You can do it if you try and if you just believe! 😀 Stay blessed everybody!

James 1:2-8 – Trials and Temptations 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you […]

  1. You said:I asked for help from my professor because I was so sure I understood what was going on in class that I couldn’t understand why I had failed not just once but twice! This is what stood out the most to me. We only have to ask God why we failed in anything and he will gladly show us why. We must be able to handle the truth about ourselves. We have the Holy Spirit to strengthen us for what he may show us. We have two choices to seek the wisdom of God in order for us to move forward like you did, or stay stuck in a state of self denial and deception.

I respect the fact that you humbled yourself and asked your instructor (Holy Spirit) and he showed you where you missed it. I don’t know if you are aware of how powerfully profound this is. The answers were already within you, We need the help of the Holy Spirit moment by moment.

He is our Teacher, our Helper, our Guide and God. He is the only one to help us negotiate both worlds that we live in. The spirit and the natural. We are enlarged by God when we learn from our failures, we become less self reliant and more dependent upon HIM!

    • I agree with you. The answers are already within us we just need to understand that asking God for what we lack is part of receiving our breakthroughs. Jesus is the answer. I praise God. Thanks for your comment Sis. Hazel 🙂
