The Coming New Year

Hello all!

Honestly, I feel like this year has been a whirlwind. So many things have happened that it’s hard to condense everything into one sweet paragraph.

I travelled back to Zimbabwe during the beginning of the year and that was an amazing experience which I will repeat again in the coming New Year.  I’ve been ministering in a church that is moving from baby stage to toddler stages of ministry this year with various shocking incidences that happened but we all kind of need those types of experiences in order to grow with maturity. We had a flock of people who up an left to build their own “church” and took some valuable members with them in the process. It was something that hit my pastors really hard, but honestly, I think that God showed us who to trust and what to do and NOT do when it comes to ministry. The thing is this though….people come to churches for a variety of reasons…but then there are those who come with ulterior motives and an agenda to not just simply cause division but bring about ruin. What I learned this year having witnessed this whole fiasco was that the devil don’t play and we must remain vigilant at all times. I was not discouraged by what happened. Rather I rejoiced thinking at least we have quality people left behind. One thing I will say is that  those that cause such divisions should be very careful with what intention they do these things. Not everyone that says “Lord Lord” does what he actually says.

Matthew 7:21 [Full Chapter]

[ I Never Knew You ] “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

Another story: A friend of mine has been going through a crazy romance that seems to have caused her to do some things that have been outside of God’s will that eventually led her to get pregnant out of wed-lock and then miscarry the baby. The person she is with plays at her emotions with blame-gaming and finger-pointing but at the end of the day I have a feeling that she maybe unequally yoked with this character of a man. Despite all of this, as a friend I listen to what she says and have told her plainly that she may have to consider that she is unequally yoked with this person since it seems that they have a lot of important things they disagree about.

I know that as a single person she has been desperate to find that perfect someone to spend the rest of her life with but I don’t think it should be at the cost of losing your most important relationship that you have with God. I am single as well and can empathize with her decision making…it’s very easy to yield to temptation especially when you are watching all your friends get married and you’ve past the age of 30…but even though that is the case…I still believe in maintaining standards and learning to keep yourself from  bouncing to what seems good next… Every action has a consequence and I think she sees through her mistakes and is now working on reality checking.  The thing is…when you’re in “love”…you are blinded by the emotion that you fail to see yourself sometimes. Don’t be blind to yourself. If anything…wake up and see yourself and ask yourself if the person you are with adds to your life and includes God in the picture or if they are like a sponge sucking up all that is good out of you leaving you hanging out to dry…? I’m just throwing these thoughts out there so this isn’t a typical post if you will. I don’t know what you are expecting but I’m just going to keep on typing.

The New Year: I usually put up a prayer for the New Year and I’m thinking about it seriously on whether I will do one for this year or not because 2016 is going to be a year of serious battle and victories for some. That is what I’m sensing for the coming New Year. How you end this year will show you how the new one will start to pan out for you. Like I said, 2015 was like a whirlwind. I experienced a lot of spiritual awakenings and a lot of trials and tribulations but the one thing I have seen throughout this whole entire year is how God has been with me through every circumstance. I want to give God praise for this year and the year that we are all about to embark. Make God first in all that you do. My message for the New year is MAKE GOD FIRST PERIOD! The time is now to make Him First.

It’s not easy to wait for a lot of things…but I guarantee that it’s worth making God First in everything that you do in your life because all the things that you have been waiting for will have so much value and impact that you will appreciate God for the process of grooming your spiritual and intellectual maturity to handle the things that go right and wrong in your life. It’s easy to be emotional, but it’s better to be responsive with a heart that is willing to hear and obey instruction, thirsting for wisdom continually and desiring action above all else rather than having a passive “kay sera sera,  whatever will be, will be…” mentality.

Faith without works is dead everyone…so don’t fool yourself now.

Patience is the key…and so is action. The things you want in the coming new year will be coined with the two words I just mentioned….PATIENCE and ACTION. If you don’t learn these two things, you will end up making avoidable mistakes had you listened to the idea that Patience is indeed a virtue and action is required when instructions have been relayed.

As a minister, daughter, friend I want to wish everyone who reads my blog a Happy New Year. It’s going to be prosperous!

Here is a song by Lauren Daigle called I Am Yours. May it bless your spirit today everybody 😀
