Setting Our Priorities in Order: Isn’t it Strange????

Hi Everyone!

Lovely morning might I add. Anything above 3 degrees Celcius is awesome to me! I came across something in my reading time that I thought should be shared as we reflect on our personal walk with the Lord.

Question for the day is: Are we purposing to set our priorities in order?

What are we regarding as important in our lives. Let us explore ourselves so that we put a lot of perspective on the things that we do. If we want God operating in our lives, we also have to operate by co-operating with God in our lives. It’s a two way street here people. You can’t always be living as the taker when you haven’t practiced what it means to give.

Get your minds out of the gutter and refocus your FOCUS on the ONE who is FOCUSING on YOU. We want stuff but don’t want to work for it, we want love but don’t take the time to give it, we want success, but don’t do the things that are required to take us there. In your journey, question where you are and ask yourself, are you satisfied that this is where you will be for the rest of your life if you decide that this is “your level best”? Are you living at your level best? I know I haven’t reached my level best and I am not satisfied with where I am until I have achieved my full potential in this life. Seek more than this because there is more to life than a 9 to 5 job,a husband, wife and kids, there is more for you to do than you think and there is more for you to experience than you give yourself credit for. Think of where you are and think of where you want to be. Go in the direction of where you are SUPPOSED to BE.

I have here a short reflection written by an unknown author that drives us to critically assess ourselves as we go about our daily affairs. Who or what is important to You. Is it God? Is it money? Is it stuff or is it people? Remember that GOD should be your number ONE and then everything else is secondary.

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Enjoy the Reflection Everyone!

Isn’t it Strange

Isn’t it strange how a $100 dollar bill seems like such a large amount when you donate it to the church, but such a small amount when you go shopping?

Isn’t it strange how endless an hour seems when we are serving God, but how short it is when we watch a Football game for 60 minutes?

Isn’t it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you’re at the church and how short they seem when you’re watching a good movie?

Isn’t it strange that you can’t find things to say when you’re praying, but you have no trouble on thinking what to talk about with a friend?

Isn’t it strange how difficult and boring it is to read one chapter of the Bible but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular novel?

Isn’t it strange how everyone wants front-row-tickets to concerts or games, but they do whatever is possible to sit at the last row in the church?

Isn’t it strange how we need to know about an event for the church 2-3 weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda, but we can adjust it for other events in the last minute?

Isn’t it strange how difficult it is to learn a fact about God to share it with others, but how easy it is to learn, understand, extend and repeat gossip?

Isn’t it strange how we believe everything that magazines and newspapers say, but we question the words in the Bible?

Isn’t it strange how everyone wants a place in heaven, but they don’t want to believe, do, or say anything to get there?

Isn’t it strange how we send jokes in e-mails and they are fowarded right away, but when we are going to send messages about God, we think about it twice before we share it with others?

IT’S STRANGE ISN’T IT?

Are you laughing?
Are you thinking about it?
Spread the word, and thank God, because He loves you.

  1. Hi Sherline,

Excellent post! The points in the reflection, were well designed! All, so very true! I praise God, because I am pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus! “I need more, more, more, Jesus more of you!” This is my heart’s desire! Thanks for sharing this! God bless you!

  2. Beautiful piece really! We must not forget this!
“If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels”.” (Mark 8:38).
In our life time, we ought to embrace all the good we can, become all the good we dream and manifest all the good we are. Christ loved us that we may love the rest! Let’s show them how to do this too.
    Thanks for sharing the post!

    • Thank you for your thoughtful comment TeeCee. Love your name by the way, very catchy. We put Him First since He always had us in His mind First. We are well able to do this and we will. Well, that is my hope anyway 😉

  3. “Isn’t it strange how we send jokes in e-mails and they are forwarded right away, but when we are going to send messages about God, we think about it twice before we share it with others?” Wow, last night’s bible study discussion reiterated in your post. Praise be to God. If we must be witnesses of the gospel we might as well be a fearless one!

    • AMEN to that girl! Fearless is He who comes in the Name of the Lord. We must be bold and confident in the Hope that we have in Him. The One who believes in us, is the one expecting to convey our belief in Him outwardly by actions, thoughts and deeds. Well said Margaret, well said 😀

  4. Sherline, you said a mouthful. This is soulfood for the soul. Isn’t it strange how we never have time to pray but always complaining. Never take the time to smile at a stranger but quick to judge them? Awesome post. I love it. May God continue to fill you with His grace. I love you and keep your eyes to the cross.
