Nearing the Final Stretch – Getting there

Day 18 of 21 Day Daniel Fast – so I have only a few days left of this Fast and I’m looking forward to having my tea *woooohooooo!*. Ok, but seriously this fast has not been easy for me at all. Even so, I will say that it has been very rewarding in that I feel like God has been opening up my eyes to things I didn’t see before about myself, and also revealing so many wonderful mysteries in the Word. I truly hope I gained some level of wisdom but time will tell.

Today’s encouragement is about nearing the Final Stretch. Sometimes we tend to give up half way when we are pursuing something with all that we’ve got but the test of endurance is a measure of your capacity to not give up. Remember that saying that goes, “When the Going gets tough, the tough get going”. Where are you in this Fast? Have you already given up? I know that it is a tough thing to do but don’t land in self-condemnation zones when you are struggling to keep up. Remember that this race isn’t about winning, it’s about finishing. You may be finishing with tears and when I mean tears I mean tears of pain and tears of joy. You will discover yourself in this fast and you will discover God with you during this Fast. The Word for me has been very enlightening during this Fast and I hope that for those that have been following my personal meditations during this fast that you have all been encouraged in your own personal walk. God desires relationship with us and intimacy and I feel that this Fast has brought me closer to  Him to quite an extent. I also think that my Faith has been reshaped through this experience. I have never felt so focused in hearing Gods voice as I have been with this Fast. It’s all about putting our trust in Him but in order to do that He’ll also test our level of faith.

Question yourself: Are you willing to put your level of faith to the Test? I shiver at the word “test” but I think that it’s better to go through it knowing that in the end that is the only way one can grow with spiritual maturity and increase your cup of faith. We can’t afford to be satisfied with our current level of faith when the God of more than enough, the God of abundance expects us to do greater things than these by seeking to enhance and increase our Faith to move many mountains. We must pursue “the Greater” for we serve a Great God. Remember that when you go through your meditations.

This Video I’m putting here is to encourage you in your walk to help you remember that you were created for a greater purpose. A Great purpose from a Great God requires Great Faith.

I also have an awesome song by Damita Haddon called I Will Trust.  I pray that in ministers to your spirit today. God bless you. Only a few days left and you will reap the rewards of your faith for this Year of 2012 of DIVINE GOVERNMENT after the Fast. Believe it to receive it.

  1. Wonderful post again today on your 18th day of your DanielFast. Blessings and peace be upon your, dear Sherline! My father always invoked Joshua 24:15 whenever we kids wanted to copy the behaviors of our peers blindly. The illustraton telling us how much wiser we get the more mistakes we make is just so empowering. Thank you. May your final three days be filled with light and a closer and closer walk with Him–and thus, with your own true self!

  2. First of all let me commend you on your fast. You’re on a very difficult journey but you are almost at the end. Keep pressing forward, Jesus is at the finish line to receive you.

So shall it be on the Lord’s day when every man will get paid according to his work. As you have rightly said, this race is not about winning but rather how do we finish…Thanks for sharing. God bless.
